Here are some pics that I took when I installed the carbotech brake pads on the front of my truck. Of course these directions will work for any kind of pad change you might want to do...If you need better pics just go to my pixagogo link and you'll see the full size ones there. Enjoy and I hope they help.. :)

Very nice. Just the way I did it recently putting on the carbotech pads. Also installed the Crown Performance stainless steel brake lines at the same time. I took some pics but have not had the time to upload them.

Actually I won them at our Titan meet we had. GregV from Mossy Performance was the sponosor and donated them for our meet. I believe they run about $90 for a set. Check out Mossy Performance and see how much they are. If you buy them, you won't be disappointed, I and several others can personally vouch for that.

I've changed many brake pads on our Volvos and Maximas. I always use a large c-clamp to compress the calipers (to depress the pistons) before removing the bolts. This has always made removing the calipers much easier. Would this work on the Titan?

Yes. It will work. Most disc brakes are the same and can be compressed the same. Just make sure you dont "rush" it otherwise you can blow a seal in either the master cylinder or the booster. Depending on application. On the other hand awesome write up. Good pics. LOL'd at the filter pliers :auslachen2-big:.

You can clamp it on the inside of the rotor on the caliper and on the outside of the rotor on the pad itself, you can compress the caliper. Doing this while still the rotor is still on the car, will show you if your caliper sleeves/guides need to be greased when reinstalling them.

I think that people do not understand how simple of a task it is to change brake pads. I would never pay someone to do that, unles I broke both of my hads.

Very simple changing pads on disc brakes, I do it on all my cars. I hate doing drum brakes, my Buick has drums in all 4 corners.

nice write up but i see a potential problem. using the grinder to remove the glaze could cause a problem. removing the glaze is esential but it needs to be done so you leave no directional pattern on the rotor as the swirls could cause the brake pads to chatter as they try and move with the pattern. i have had this problem before on my 300zxturbo. i have found a da does a better job since it has no directional pattern left it is more random. now this may not be a problem with the titan because it wont be getting hauled down from 100+ mph repeatedly. i did the grinder method and the pads chattered like a b----. took them off and put a 36gr disk on the da turnd it up wide open and removed the circular scratches and all was fine after reinstall. keep in mind this car has a 13" rotor with 4 piston callipers so the effect is exagerated with the large rotors but with the weight of the titan it may prove to be a problem for some folks.

No... You only need rotors turned if there are grooves caused by not replacing the pads when they squeel... Or if it's been 60K miles or more since they've even been looked at.
