: Non Sagging Lift Kit
ADay73 02-18-2006, 02:17 PM I am now in the market for a 6 to 8 inch lift kit and I have been looking around, however most I am seeing in person and in pictures have the bed sagging with the hood up in the air further than the bed. Does anyone know why this is as well as if there are kits that do not allow this to happen?
Rudebrewedandtattooed88 02-18-2006, 02:39 PM huh.... most kits raise the front to a "level or nearly Level position" i have never seen any that raise the front higher then the rear, like take pro comp the front lift is what 6" but the rear is only like 3.5 or 3" blocks...to make up for the giant slope most trucks have, but i dont think any of them raise the front actually higher then the rear, it just makes up the already slope that their is......"i think"
chasenme 02-18-2006, 02:53 PM Ya my ProComp lift dont sag
ADay73 02-19-2006, 08:31 PM OK, maybe "sagging" is a bad term. I like the look of the back a little bit higher than the front (not the level look). How could I accomplish this and is there a kit that will allow to adjust for this?

I feel the same way as you. I like to keep a little "Rake". So I went with the Pro Comp lift which seems to be the most level kit. I also ordered the Deaver "mini pack" springs to go with it. The PC lifts the front about 5.75" and comes with a 3" rear block. The deavers will give me another 1 1/2" in the rear on top of that. This should give me just a touch of rake still.

got to it before i could.... but that would have been my suggestion also or get with prerunner greg and he will hook you up with the cst lift and the springs probably for a good deal im sure..but that would have been my suggestion also!!
rcantu 02-19-2006, 09:56 PM the CST 2wd lift actually does that. it lifts 8 inches from the factory rake then there's a 4 inch rear block added. I have DR coilovers so my front is actually a little lower because my rear is lower than most trucks (weird). Anyways I'm cranking up the fronts when I get my rear Deavers.
Man, rcantu, your Titan is so friggin cool looking. Everytime I see it on here it just makes me smile. Good work dude!
PrerunnerGreg 02-19-2006, 11:12 PM Im gonna let you guys make up your minds on the stance you prefer. But here are the height of the kits. Now, most 4wd sit with about 3" of rake to start with. So, the 4wd CST kit uses a 4" rear block and raises the front about 6.5", so it has about .5 inch of rake. the procomp kit uses a 3" block and raises the front about 5.5", so you have about .5" of rake. The Rancho kit uses a 2" rear block and raises the front about 5, so you have a 0" of rake. The Fabtech kit uses a 2" block and add-a-leaf for about 3.5" of lift, the front gets raised about 6", therefore about .5" rake. The 2wd CST uses a 4" block and a 7.5" front kit, the front is .5-1" taller usually (most 2wd sit about 2.5" of rake). I will say that most of the time .5-1" lower in the front is the "neutral" stance. that is what we shoot for on the 4wd levleing kits. Any taller and it can look "nose high" any less and you notice a definite rake. hope that helps. keep in mind that if you order thorugh me, i can set you up with whatever stance you want before hand and get you a custom block or front height. Its not magic, just a matter of getting the parts that are needed to get the stance YOU want.
rcantu 02-19-2006, 11:24 PM thanks for the compliment. I do try to do my best...working on more things too :)
PRG has installed every kit and then some. that's why he's the "titan specialist". He did my set up.

NateL 02-20-2006, 02:54 AM Any kits out there that don't use blocks in the rear? Or will I need to just have custom springs made when I get around to lifting mine?

All of the kits use blocks. However you can get a Deaver full spring pack that will lift the rear about 5" (I think). However, besides being expensive, I have heard from others (and PRG Greg) that the ride is terrible with them. You will get a much better ride using blocks, the deaver "mini pack" and traction bars all for about the same money as the deaver full spring pack. 8)

I won't use blocks, just a personal preference. I've had springs custom made before for about $100 a pack, so I might go that route when I lift the truck. Of course the body might be in bad enough shape by then that I'll just cut the fenders to clear bigger tires, don't think it would take too much trimming to fit 35's.
ADay73 02-20-2006, 05:56 PM Prerunnergreg, how do I contact you and who are you with when I need to go ahead and order the kit and talk about specs?

You can contact him via www.titanspecialist.com
PrerunnerGreg 02-21-2006, 08:34 AM THe full Deaver pack is a first-class spring as it consists of 13 leaves and triple-wraped front eye. but in my opinion they are a bit stiff for our trucks. If you hang a spare or two of the back and a fuel cell, they would be perfect though. They are around $650/pr. $100 for a full spring is less than material cost, way less. Here is a pic of a set i have in the shop that needs to ship.
Aday, im a titan owner who has pretty good knowledge of suspension design and application that manufactures and sells parts and offer advise to fellow titan enthusiasts. My number is 951 780-5331.
