Hey all you Florida Titans ... have no plans for Saturday March 18th. Well, if thats the case ... surprise the wife, grab the kids and meet up with alot of us CT guys at Old Town in Kissimmee FL. It will be a day of fun for everyone. Please visit the links at the bottom of this post. I have no other choice, but to try to get a rough HEADCOUNT now! I spoke to Amy @ Old Town and also contacted the local parks & recreation department today. It appears we really have only 1 option that makes sense. I personally think it couldnt have worked out better (regardless of other options).
The local Parks & Recreation department indicated to me that the closest park (w/grills and tables) is 7 miles east of Old Town. The bad news is, that park has no more vacancy (everything is accounted for). I then inquired on the next closest park, and that one is approx 15 miles away from Old Town. I didn't bother calling the 2nd park because I'm trying to be as fair as I can to those bringing kids, spouses or girlfriends. My goal is to make the day fun for eveyone (of all ages) and Old Town fits that bill.
When I spoke to Amy @ Old Towns Classic Car & Cruise Division, she is willing to reserve as many parking spaces as we need (giving us our own little section) right on their premises at the front entrance. Now family can come and have PLENTY to do because of our proximity to Old Town.
The only other thing I could have done (to top this location) would have been to contact Disney World and have them allow us to park on "downtown USA" in the middle of their theme park (lol). Amy said there will be lots of Classics there on March 18th along with a Studebaker Club bringing 72 of their cars (wow). She stated that Old Town caters to Clubs, therefore she is willing to do this for us CT guys that need a place to hold our Meet. I told her that I felt I had 10 -12 committed guys (but I'm not even sure of that).
Guys, the way I see it ... we still have 3 + weeks to promote this Meet and get even more Titans involved. I told Amy I would make an announcement on our Clubs website today, and see if I can get at least some to make a commitment.
If for some reason more than 15 show up, well thats okay, but she cannot guarantee additional spaces with the rest of the CT gang. However, additional parking is only a block away from the entrance.
Unfortunately ... we do not fit the criteria for their parade of cars that night . However, I think I'm gonna work on her once we all get there, because it sure didn't sound like it was written in stone by the way she was talking to me. She said something about having 4 mods or more??? America is the land of opportunity .. isn't it ?

Count me in with no problem. Do we need a grill? If so I will load mine in the back of the truck and bring it on down.

We (the family) have decided we will be getting a campspot somewhere in the area and pulling the TT down there on Friday night. That way we don't have to get up so early on Saturday morning. Then Sunday morning we will hook up and pull the trailer to Magic Kingdom and just park it there all day.

T-former count me in defintly. i will be there with no problem and thats great with what you did. when it gets closer tell where to go and when to be there and you can count on me to be there with no problem. shoot me a posting of some sort letting me know where exactly to be. man great job.

Sorry guys I wont be able to make it. My wife will be in orlando for a convention and I have to stay at home and make sure the dogs don't tear up the house. I hate having 4 dogs sometimes. Well enjoy the meet and make sure everyone stays safe. I will have to make it to the next one. And just wanted to say thanks to Transformer for all the hard work he has put into this event.

Count me and the wife in...barring an emergency or the like...sounds like fun...good job Transformer :D

Info: Old Town--(not trying to hijack your thread Transformer, just thought I'd post some extra info to help...not to offend :wink: )

Old Town is conveniently located off Highway 192 in Kissimmee, Florida.
This shopping, dining, and entertainment attraction is located just 3 miles east of the main entrance to Disney, a few minutes from Universal Studios and Sea World, and walking distance from several hotels.

From Interstate 4: From I-4, take Exit 64A (old exit 25A) to Highway 192 eastbound for about one mile. Look for the giant Ferris wheel at the main entrance on the right, at Marker #9.

From Orlando Int'l Airport: Take SR 417 to the Osceola Parkway (toll road). Go west approx. 1/4 mile. Then turn South on International Drive. Go 1 mile to the light at US 192. Turn east (left) on US 192. Go straight at the next light (Holiday Trail), and the main entrance is located on your right. Look for the giant Ferris Wheel!

Guys, this is just an update, but I hope it will encourage some of you "fence riders' to finally commit. I sent approximately 25 PM's out last night to as many Florida Titans as I could and I'm getting some FANTASTIC feedback. Some cannot make it do to prior engagements but a few are still gonna try to make it and give me an answer within the week! I also got an email from a parts Mgr from a Nissan Dealership located on the East Coast of Florida that is showing alot of interest and will probably be a part of the Meet as well. I just spoke to Amy @ Old Town and told her that we WILL (and I'm a man of my word) take and fill 15 parking spaces even if I have to rent some Titans to fill them (lol). By the feedback I'm now finally getting, and with BigVic and the Nissan parts Mgr coming on board things are really starting to happen. Heck boomer may be bringing 2 -3 other fellow Titans himself. Guys, sit down with the wife (and or kids), let them read the post and come on out for a great day of fun.
BTW .. I still need an ongoing headcount so once you're IN PLZ PM ME!!!!

P.S. The Mystery Mod is to be installed next Friday March 3rd.

Hey Thrust, you live right around the corner from where I was born, Winterhaven. Haven't been back in a while though. My sister got married at Cypress Gardens 10 years ago from the from this coming weekend. Pretty cool......

I washed my truck last weekend and next day the tree pollen filled the bed :evil: I'm going to the car wash and save myself a day of work 8)

Hey Guys...it was great to meet with you all and sorry for my short visit but I did get a ton of good info from you all and now know the direction I want to take my Titan with mods and accessories. Next Party will be in November @ Old Town. This was not my decision but many that attended. Should be a nice time of the year to hold the next one @ Old Town.
