: I Love My New Tonneau Cover !!!

My dad does canvas work (mostly boats) and makes these as a sideline. The fabric is acrylic canvas (never shrinks, never fades) mounted on a light-gauge steel frame custom fit and bolted to the bed. It's hinged in the middle for quick access, with two lock-snaps attached to the bed near the tailgate to keep it buttoned down.

While fabric tonneaus don't offer the ultimate in security, I figured it'll give me an excuse to buy that chrome-plated skidplate box I've been eyeballing  and it's a lot lighter than the solid fiberglass covers. Plus, I love the look. With a little luck it'll buy me some improvement on the 11.3 mpg I averaged over the last tank ...

There are a few more pix on my gallery page.

PS - Yep, those are my new Bushwackers sittin' in the bed ...

Hey M4ck, actually it'd be pretty easy to fabricate the frame if you know your way around simple welding. When I get a chance I'll take the frame measurements and post some closeups of the details. I paid I think $140 bucks for mine, the canvas work of course was gratis. You could have any good marine canvas artist (as my dad appropriately refers to himself) do the fabric part, just make sure they use a top-shelf acrylic material like Sunbrella brand.
