took the beast offroad democrat point. LI. SAND EVERYWHERE... great time though... what would be the best way and safest way to clean up all that sand that got up under the hood?

I think that you should try to blow out most of what you have, b/c once it's wet, it may be more difficult. Just make sure that your CAI is covered if you have one. If not, then the OEM air box offers plenty of protection. Blow most of it down, then pick up the water hose. You won't need to cover anything to protect from the water. Just make sure that your engine isn't hot. I hope this helps a little bit.

thanks for the help...i need to find something to use to blow the sand out dont have a compressor. getting a little bit of sand under the hood isnt going to destroy anything is it.

Just take the water hose to it!!! You won't hurt a thing with the hose. Just don't use a high pressure stream. All electrical connections are sealed. I hose my down all the time then spray McGuires Tire Shine on it and wet it down again a few minutes later. Makes it look awesome!!!!!

use ur leaf blower to get loose sand.. then use ur garden hose..........after that start engine for 10 minutes then turn it offf... apply tire shine....

thanks for the help guys... really need a digital camera. the beach i went to was awesome and the truck is a beast in the sand... thanks again..

Just make sure you don't leave it for long. As sand sits it starts to eat away at the paint and will start to corrode whatever it is on.
