I replaced my chrome door handles to body color painted ones. I bought the black XE door handles from the dealer and had them painted. I have a King Cab with a key hole only in the drivers door.

The following are the part numbers you will need:

2-#80640-7S200 Handle Grips (4 for crew cab)
1-#80646-7S200 Escutcheon with Key hole
1-#82646-8S510 Escutcheon w/o Key hole (3 for crew cab)

These parts are fairly cheap, It cost me less than $30 shipped for my King Cab handles.

Here is a brief How-To on changing them, it is really very simple. Sorry for the dirty truck. :D

Open the door and find the black plug, remove the black plastic plug covering the hole. Then loosen the Torx head screw all the way. There is a plastic clip that holds the screw and prevents the screw from falling inside the door so don't worry about losing it.

Once you loosen the screw the Escutcheons will come right out, make sure the screw is loosened all the way, it may take a little wiggling it around. On the ones with no lock, the escutcheon will come right off the truck. If it has a lock it will pull out far enough to snap off the cover and change it but it won't come off unless you unhook the lock and I don't think that is neccessary. With the escutcheons out remove the plastic cover but do not put the new cover on yet.
This pic is the escutcheon without a lock.

Once you have the escutcheons out, grab the handle and slide it towards the rear of the truck. It will then release the handle and it will come right off. Now just put the new handles back in then snap the new escutcheon covers on and buttin it all up. :)

This is very easy, it took me 30 minutes to do both sides going in blind. :)
Any questions please feel free to PM me. And now the finished product. :D

Good write up QWIK. I used a small jewlers flat blade screwdriver to help pop off the Escutcheons but your way actually looks a little easier.

Did this exactly the way as described a month ago o my xe. works perfectly.. just be patient. if you feel yourself forcing the eustacheon off, just back that screw out all the way. both pieces should come off effortlessly.

thanks for the post. I love the chrome handles.

here's where i got 'em

how much did it cost you to get them painted?

It's hard to say exactly. :) I paid $150 to have the door handles, Engine cover, and front grill painted. I would think you should be able get the handles painted for around $50 or so?????

Looks GREAT!! An easy and inexpensive mod. Cool ! I wonder why Nissan hasn't offered matching door handles for the Titan yet?? I was thinking chrome handles myself. I have the xe black handles now and I'm not sure how that(painted handles) would look on my Deep Water CC.

I had a problem with my back door not working this winter and the dealer said there was a bullitin and replaced all of mine under warranty.

I just changed all the door handles and these intructions are great! The screw took some wiggling to get out far enough to pull the pieces out.

great write-up. my original driver side broke and it was easy to get off. however, the new one would not go on. popping the lock out was the ticket. took longer to find the right torx then to put the new cover on. lol.

I tried to do this and the passenger side worked fine. However the drive side is stuck on there pretty good. How do I undo the key lock in order to get the handle out?

How do I do the drivers side one. When I loosen the screw, the lock and plastic piece are still in there pretty good. Do i need to undo the locking mech.?

Should be the same exact way, I didn't have any problems with mine.

It should be that same with all handles, I didn't have any problems with mine. Maybe you just need to loosen it up a bit more?

Just did mine and it was easier than I thought it would be. The only real problem is getting the driver's side to let go of the screw. Keep wiggling in different directions and she will come free.

Thanks for the tutorial QWIK!
