: Cabin Air Filter...
Predator 05-15-2006, 12:57 AM The other day I bought new cabin airfilters seeing that I have 15k miles on the truck and it would be about time to replace them. I follow the directions and take out the glove box and removed the cover where the filters go...
and there were no filters to replace!!!
I have a 2005 Titan LE, shouldn't there have been filters in there when I got the truck new?
Thanks,
Its my understanding that all Titans except the XE's should have them from factory.
Flight_Test 05-15-2006, 07:04 AM For some reason, Nissan ships CC's with filters, but not KC's.
I would assume yours is a King Cab. If you link to http://www.nissanusa.com/titan/specifications_crew.html and select INTERIOR you'll see the Crew Cab SE and LE have filters factory installed. Select KING CAB from the left window and INTERIOR and see NO model has filters (no line item for in-cabin filter.)
Predator 05-15-2006, 10:16 AM Thanks, that is weird...I wish I knew that 15k miles ago.
shailey 05-15-2006, 11:59 AM I believe that the same set up is used on the KC and CC? So you should just be able to add them to it.
Jetboy 05-15-2006, 12:03 PM Like the others said the KC's don't come with them from the factory but the box to insert them is there so you can add them at any time.
TulsaMike 05-15-2006, 01:10 PM how much were they?
mach1 05-15-2006, 01:53 PM cheapest ive found them was around $38 shipped from some on-line vendors. Local stealership wanted like $45 before tax.
DevilDawg 05-15-2006, 02:42 PM Sheit, I got mine from the stealership for 30 bucks including tax.
DESTRO 05-15-2006, 02:52 PM I just bought a set of reusable filters from Quickwhip over at TT. I was very impressed when I got these. $50 one time cost.

blacksmith37 05-15-2006, 11:24 PM Glad filters are free; I've now replace them with every oil change . The white filter material is grey with dust at 4,000 . I never drive off pavement so I don't know where all the dirt is coming from. I cut up home filters to 4" X 9" pieces.
shailey 05-16-2006, 09:55 AM The dust is from our wonderful clean air, pollen and so forth. By the way brilliant idea on cutting up home filters. So now the price just went to $15 for one good allergan filter that will make about 6 of these. I will do that today. Thank you.
I ended up buying the custom made electrostatic filters that were made/ offered by one of our members, Jaysplaypen.
I think they were around $55 but the great thing about them is that they fit perfectly and all I have to do is wash them when they get dirty.
Blue_Water_Rush 05-22-2006, 10:41 PM You guys should pm jaysplaypen, she fabs. electrostatic replacement micro. filters which are lifetime, and probably work the best. I think I paid $55 for mine, shipped. I still have not put them in, waiting til I rip my cab apart for the audio work I'm about to embark upon.
jrw396 05-24-2006, 05:13 AM I've been using JPP's filters every since she came out with them.
They are well made and work great.
ttugrad95 05-24-2006, 03:59 PM I have an SE king cab and thought I had one. In none of the material does it say this filter is optional. I have bad allergies so I looked because I was going to buy one when I took delivery if it wasn't there. I'm opening it up as soon as I get home and find out once and for all.
ttugrad95 05-24-2006, 07:46 PM Nope, no filter.
shailey 05-24-2006, 07:59 PM The king cab does not have it as an option, however you can still add it to it without a problem.
WindsorFox 06-25-2006, 12:39 AM $30 each and the Titan has 2? OMG! You know before Y2K we did without these filters, now you're shocked and upset it wasn't there. LOL Mine stays on recirc 98% of the time anyway.

$30.00 for the set. And the filter works on recirculate as well as outside air. They are a good thing to have.
stmiff 07-03-2006, 01:12 AM Wix makes some replacement cabin filters too. 24854 is the part number. I found them on Amsoil.com, at their online store. The price was around $31.50 before shipping, taxes, etc. Hopefully they will be at some local auto parts stores soon, at a cheaper price.
ttugrad95 07-05-2006, 02:20 PM rockauto.com has the Wix cabin filters for $19.50, it doesn't get any cheaper than that. I was about to order a set from them a few weeks ago but happened to run by the dealership and they sold me a set for not much more. Wix normally makes good stuff but from what little I have heard about the Wix cabin filters, they are no different than the Nissan ones. Good luck finding them at local places, I checked every local place that carries Wix and the best I got was an offer to order it. That was from NAPA which puts Wix filters in their box.
mikehn 07-06-2006, 09:40 AM rockauto.com has the Wix cabin filters for $19.50, it doesn't get any cheaper than that.
Is that 19.50 for a set of two filters? Or is that 19.50 each filter? The website does not specify.
jerseyparts 07-06-2006, 12:41 PM WE have the cabin filters on our site for 24.99 plus shipping.
totallywirelessgps 07-15-2006, 04:01 AM I have a 2005 KC SE with the filters. The truck was born 10/04. I just changed my cabin filters 2 months ago ~ 75,000 miles
blacksmith37 07-20-2006, 11:14 AM A little side note: My daughter has a Infinity F35, I dropped her glove box to put in some of my home furnace filter cut outs. It has the same size plenum ( 9" X 9") but better access , so it takes one 9 X 9 filter instead of two 9 X 4.5 like the Titans.
Also the dealer had just put in a new filter; you get good service with a $130 oil change.
