Don't rush it. Wet the bugs down a few times within about a 15 min time period.
Give them time to get soft from the water. They come off much easier & you
don't have to rub the front as hard. I prefer not to use chemicals, just water
& a bug sponge.

I was just turned onto Invisible Glass Window, Windshield & Mirror Cleaner made by Stoner for cleaning up the chrome....spray it on...let it sit a minute and all bug and muck wipes off easily. No more chrome polish for me. I paid under $4.00 in auto parts store.

The first thing, of course I'm sure you know, is to make sure you have a really good couple coats of wax on the front hood and bumper area. Then one of the best solutions I have found is to take a couple of towels and/or dishtowels (these need to be dedicated for this purpose) and soak them down with warm/hot water, wring them out, then lay them across the hood and bumper area. I am able to use the towels on my front hood edge and then the dishtowels on my bumper area. Let them stay on there 15-30 minutes and then when you come back, the bugs will wipe right off. If I have gone a few days or return from a long trip I will spray some all purpose cleaner from Meguiars on the towels before I put them on the truck. You have to be careful when you apply cleaners or bug removers though, because they will strip the wax off and you will need to reapply.
I live on the Gulf Coast of Alabama and LOVE BUGS are EVERWHERE! I use this towel technique and it works well for me....Just thought I'd pass it on.

I've never had any problem with just straight bug and tar remover. I do a regular wash and get the majority off, and finish off with any bug and tar remover. When finished, I rinse off any remaining residue left over by the cleaner...too easy.

I had the XPEL clear bra put on, they wipe off easy now. No worry about rocks and chips now. For 295.00 I got the two bumper sides, fog lights , head lights. That was installed price. The lights are .20 mm, the bumper .08 thick.

You have to be carefull with the front bumper paint, Many people have had thiers start to peel so I wouln't go overboard with a pressure washer or brushes. I would use some bug and tar remover and then reapply a wax.

Some good ideas here...

Mother's Clay Bar Wax will help to remove them, then wax the crap out of the front end!!

I just use soap and water, rinse off the front quick wash then do the rest of the truck. Finally scrub the front one more time.

Bugs are everywhere! I took my daughter to school this morning had this big old bug splatter right in middle of my view. Just washed the windows and detailed the truck yesterday.

I have found that WD-40 removes bugs easily. Just spray, let sit for a few and then wipe off. My father turned me on to it, then a little research on the web verified what he was telling me.

Simple green. Get a Empty spray bottle and just by the gallon size refills. I wet the truck first then spray. Let it set for about 1-2 minutes. You can use it on the rims to. I would jst make sure their wet first. I have used it on all my vehicles and never had a problem.

I hear Simple Green works well when cleaning the engine too? I've never sprayed the engine for fear of getting something wet that should be wet. Anybody got any duggestions/tips here?

I use Turtle's "Tar and Bugs" removal. Work pretty good.

You can get a bug guard

I found the trick is not to let them stay on there too long. The harder and crustier they get the tougher it is to get them off. I'll stop by a car wash after a trip and hose it down then use a rag with light soap in water and it seems to get most of the b@$t@rds off. Bug and tar remover is my last line of defense, I try to stay away from chemicals too. Wax, Wax, and then wax again to keep it looking good.

I'm amazed at the variety of chemicals used to clean bugs...........just about
everything but hydrochloric acid.http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

When everything else fails just use the good 'ol fingernail. It's hard enough to rip them little buggers off of there but yet soft enought to not damage your paint.

JUst keep in mind that BUg/Tar remover, simple green, ect. will strip your wax off along with the bugs.....so you'll need to reapply wax if you are going to use these types of products. If you have a good coating of wax and you don't let the bugs sit a long time (like Spider said) they will pretty much come off with water and elbow grease but if they sit...........clear coat will be eaten!!
Something else you can use is a Detailing Spray like Meguiars offers along with a bug sponge. The detailing spray is aggressive enough to break the bugs down but will not remove your wax.....just my .02

I had a big chunk of paint come off as a result of the dealership using a power washer on my front bumper. Do not use a powerwasher.

Hondapolish!! It's a motorcycle cleaner that cleans and protects all in one step. Excellent stuff to get rid of bugs and road gunk/tar. It leaves a nice just waxed feeling after it cleans.

Give baking soda and water a try. Dissolve baking soda in warm water to make a fairly strong solution. Wet the bugs down with the solution from a spray bottle, let soak, but dont let it dry out completely. Hose off the residue and wash with soap and water as usual. It works very well and everyone has some at home.

soap water and a micro firber towel work fine for me. hit it with water first and give it a minute then rub(not even overly hard)

I have recently used Westley's Bleach White on the front of a vehicle in which the bugs were on there for months. Sprayed it on, let it sit for about 3-4 minutes and then washed the vehicle before the spray dried on the paint and the bugs and tar came off really easily. If you look at the bottle quick, it you will see a picture of tires/rims on it (which it works very well on too), but on the rear, it tells you it can be used for removal of bugs, tar, grease, etc....Medium sized bottle, around $6.00.

OOOOh dont get me started......I have 8000 miles on an 06 only three months old....the love bugs killed my front bumper. the paint is wasted and Nissan will not warranty this. "bugs comprimised the quality of the paint" is what they told me...NO ****! So now I am going to get the entire bottom half of my truck Line X ed front bumper, up to the Titan badge down the sides and rear bumper. All for less than it would cost to remove and repaint the front bumper. I am super hatin on Nissan right now......

I really like the Clear plastic 3M clear bra. Works great with wax on the 3M the bugs just wipe off. If you can apply window tint you can apply this stuff. It comes in different thicknesses also. Check this site if you want to read more.

The number one thing I have found is a bounce dryer cloth like what you use in the clothes dryer. Wont scratch or harm paint you barely have to rub it on the bugs and they come right off. Wet bumper let sit for a minute or two and then rub off.

It could always be worse...I was driving on 1-95 a few weeks ago, and a big frickin' spider crawled across the windshield. I screamed like a little b1tch and started freaking out. :p

I've learned to accept the bugs. I wash them off during her weekly bath, but otherwise I don't sweat it.

I prefer to cover the truck with a nice layer of mud, dirt, or gravel dust. I can't even tell there are dead bugs all over the front of mine.

Exactly! But if you need to get them off I'd suggest either clay bar or WD40, both of which have been mentioned.

FYI, don't use a wax use a polish. Yes there is a difference! Wax will leave a buildup after a few coats as polish will not! To make the bugs easier to remove simply apply a "thin" layer of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. When it comes time to remove the bugs you simply wipe them off with no effort!

I'm with NateL. Just get it so dirty you can't tell they are on the front. I just cheat and go to an automatic carwash I used to work at and just sit in the truck and let them do the work. 5 miles down the road it doesn't make any difference if they got them all or not because there are just as many on it again.
