Edited by M4ck to move the important info to the first post:

Well folks, after much discussion, I am officially committing to having the 1st Michigan/Ohio Titan meeting for Saturday, July 22nd @ Sterling State Park. To accomodate the way out-of-towner's, let's plan on starting this picnic about 1:30 PM. I will try to be there early enough to secure parking for all of us so that we can all be in one place. If you'd like to camp, you can secure a site via the website.

Here is a link to the park: http://www.michigandnr.com/parksandt...fo.aspx?id=497 (http://www.michigandnr.com/parksandtrails/parksandinfo.aspx?id=497)

Here is the link to the park map: http://www.michigandnr.com/Publicati...erling_map.pdf (http://www.michigandnr.com/Publications/PDFS/RecreationCamping/sterling_map.pdf)

You'll notice on the map that there is one huge parking lot located in the middle of the park. I will try to secure some spots for us as close to the main road (NE corner)as possible so keep an eye out!!! (Maybe I'll post some flags or signs out).

I was unable to reserve a covered pavillion but there are bbq pits available onsite. However, I will bring a green, 20x20 tent/awning (and a grill, just in case). Also, the cost to enter the park will be $6 per vehicle. All non Michigan residents are $8 per vehicle.

I'll bring the burgers and hotdogs. If you'd like to contribute, please feel free to bring whatever you like. In addition, if you'd like to assist me in setting up, or have any questions, please send me a PM.

I am hopeful that we'll have both an excellent turnout as well as excellent weather.

I look forward to meeting some of you. Hope to see you there on the 22nd!!!! Please spread the word!:anheizer-big:

Hey Cujo I know I have seem at least a couple more Titans on the road in MI than just the 2 of us.

I hear ya, I live/ work a few miles from the Nissan North American Technical Center. I see at least 5 or 6 Titan on my daily commute. I wonder if there was a way to promote the club to these folks... hmmm. I just might talk to my local Nissan Service manager about this.
Any how, if I could ask for your assistance in passing the word around about ClubTitan but also about possibly putting together a meet, I would greatly appreciate it.

I will keep at it.

Thanks.

I have only seen a couple around here, they don't sell that many still a couple of 05's on the the lots when I bought mine last month.

I am up on helping any way I can. I think it's time for one of those CT stickers on my window to "get the word out"

If it's in July, I should be able to make it. (have to visit my parents in Traverse City for the Cherry Festival).

I don't see too many Titans in Michigan so it would be great to meet you all! I'll bring the pasties!

I was thinking mid to late July. When is the Traverse City Cherry Festival?
I am thinking about possibly getting together at a local park. It's got a pavillion-type shelter with picnic tables and bbq grills. I would like to get at least 10 folks, if possible.

If you know of any Northern Ohio folks who might be interested, please have them contact me.

Thanks.

Cherry Festival is moved now to the first week in July rather than the second.

There's a nice park near Brighton if I recall that I know of offhand.

Count me in. Maybe we could stir up some interest on the other sites? That might help create a bigger turnout, if we can get this little gathering of Titans in Michigan off the ground.

Would you able to help me spread the word over at the other sites?

Thanks.

I have gotten about 5 people from other sites that are for sure they could come if it's in mid to late July and a few the "will see" reply. I would really like to see this happen, I hope we can get enough people together to make it a fun event.

I would like to go, but I have a shady work schedule. I work every saturday till 5pm. I am around the Cleveland area. How far from OH is the park you are thinking about?

If you move it closer to Toledo/Detroit, then more of the OH folks may be interested.

Sorry I haven't responded... I've been pretty busy around the house.
I was looking at the calendar and I think Saturday, July 15th would work best for me. What do you all think? Now comes the hard part... where should we get together? Someone mentioned somewhere closer to the Michigan/ Ohio border to entice our Buckeye neighbors. Does anyone have any ideas? I know of one Metropark that is right off of I-275, I think it's in Flat Rock or thereabouts? I'll have to do more research but if any one of you guys has any ideas, please, don't feel shy. Unfortunately, I would not be able to do anything on the 22nd or 29th due to prior commitments. August 5th is another option.

Look forward to hearing from all you Michigan/ Ohio Titan owners!!!

I was thinking that there is something close to Monroe, MI. I seem to remember a park or something, but I am not sure.

I think you were referring to Sterling State Park in Monroe. It's just east of I-75, in Monroe. I believe it's very close to the Michigan/ Ohio border. It's about 1,001 acres with camping and fishing. I've never been there... does anyone know anything about it? Who knows, we might be able to make a camping thing out of it if anyone's interested?

For those of you in Ohio, it's about 3 hours from Cleveland and 3 hours from Cincinnati. I am unsure of the drive from Indiana though.

Let me hear your thoughts on this.

It is also about 3 hrs from where I live in Newark, OH. Newark is about 20-25 miles east of Columbus.

Hey SilverTitan:

If you click on the link, I am sure that there are sites for tents. I still haven't decided I am going to camp or not. I know you can reserve a site on the website.

It would be nice if there were a few of us camping... it would make for one hell of a after meet party. You should've seen the after meet party @ NJ this past May...LOL

I'm glad that you were able to grab a spot. I've spoken to a few people @ work who have told me great things about this Park and camp sites. I just hope that all of the others coming in from out of town have grabbed one.

Man, I am sure looking forward to this... I hope that we get a great turn out!
