I have been doing some light off road and have been curious to really test the ABLS and locking diff. .
How does everybody feel these systems perform ?
Can you turn ABLS off? or do you ever need to?
Do I need to do any mods or quick fixes to OEM off road package(or entire truck for that matter) to make it more OR capable ?
Any info or suggestions would be great, thanx.

The ABLS is always active except when in 4lo, in terms of a mod, you can make it possible to lock the rear in 2wd, 4wd, and 4lo.

I did some light wheeling while I was home a few weeks ago and was surprised at how well the Titan did. I kept her in 4 hi most of the day and actually left the VDC on most of the time. It did surprisingly well. The only time I needed to turn the VDC off is when I needed some wheelspin to dig myself out. I've got an early 04 before they offered the locker. It is an offroad package but I'm running some street Yokohama's on the 18" LE wheels. Even with the street tires it did great in everything but the real nasty mud, but if I kept my wheel speed up I still didn't have any problems.

I even pulled a couple stuck chevy's out with very little effort on the Titan's part. I'll post some pictures when I get back to the "house"

The only thing I didn't like about the Titan is it's size. I've never been a big fan of wheeling full size trucks. That's why I have a Scout II. I've now got some nice scratches down both sides of it, and on the roof that may or may not buff out. I didn't get a chance to try while I was home. I guess I'll get the buffer out when I am home again in 5-6 months.

Here is a link to my opinion of the E-Lock:

For upgrades for your Titan, it depends on the type of wheeling you like. A big suspension lift and tall tires can get you over bigger rocks and deeper creeks.

But I'm putting my money into minimal lift/higher quality suspension components that soak up the bumps at higher speeds.
It still crawls up steep hills fairly well though - even back when it was stock as shown in the following:
