Yeah, but look at all the fun you get to have. I get the cold, but nothing to play in.

I don't really mind it. More like I have to work while it snows that sucks.

I either have to wash it and park it to keep it clean from salt or drive it dirty. If there was no road salt involved I'd have no problems with it.

Anyway I guess I'm turning into an Old Fart so :

Guys/Gals, Enjoy the snow, especially in your Titans!!! It is a great experience for us. Kinda like a good thunderstorm on a hot summer day or a power outage that quiets the world down for awhile!!!

Chief; Don't Northern Dealers put "under-coating" on vehicles to prevent rust?

My Father-in-law,(Zanesville,OH) gave us an '80 Dodge Van (10 yrs ago), that was heavily coated, both inside (insulation) and out (undercoat), that you could'nt 'hear' the outside.

some trucks by me have the option to have the company Ziebart coat the whole truck, under and paint :D

You'd think (at least, I would) it would be "Standard Issue" on every Vehicle in the Northern Region?!
Sort of like (down here, Texas) my Dealer added a UV paint protectant, and Tinted windows.

I'm not sure about the Regional undercoating. It wasn't offered or mentioned, so I take it there is none except a standard coating on all trucks. I may have seen some under there but wasn't really looking so.....

In any case the salt is still gonna find a way in there.

Speaking of Mopar, I just inherited my Dad's '82 Plymouth Voyager. The Voyager was fullsize back then. It was his first new vehicle and I remember the day he got it.

He went straight from the dealer to 'Rusty Jones' (remember them? then you are old too :D )

Whenever us kids would borrow it and use it in the snow he's make us wash off the underside at a carwash. I guess his care paid off because I now own a 23 year old vehicle with virtually no rust!!! This thing is still solid and the sheetmetal is like tank armour. A few spots of surface rust, I'll sand them and prime them. Also the paint is peeling off but the primer is still there, I'll go over that as well. Just a fun occassional driver to stuff people or dirtbikes in and take a trip down memory lane. I'm glad I have it!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, sometimes you know something is bad, but seeing is really believing. I know roadsalt is part of life up here, but I plan on fighting it the best I can. I thought about undercoating it myself, but fear the rubberizing will only serve to trap moisture as time goes by. (IS THIS CRAZY?) I like the underbody rinse at sheets. Open 24/7 automatic carwash with dryers, all I need is a towel to finish it off for 7 bucks. Not too bad a deal.

I haven't seen Ziebart here in years, but I will check into that. If I can have it done it would be a good idea. Thanks Guys.
