I have the pro comp 6" lift and have been experiencing a squeaking scraping sound when the wheels are turned and I go over any type of bump or drive way. This has been going on for some time and up until now I had thought some thing was loose but could never find it. After again looking under the truck it seems that the steering stops when at full turn are hitting the A arms and making a dent in them and when I go over a bump they are scraping. I don't feel that I am turning so hard into the stop that this should happen but it has. My question is have some of you grinded off some of the point on the steering stop to make it rounder and prevent this? If so how much did you grind off and are the any further problems. I know I would gain a bit of turning radius if I do this but I don't want to cause any problems with the suspension by turning too far. Has any one else out there had this issue?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions other than don't turn the wheel to lock.

I also had the same issue. The ProComp kit is designed that way--I believe to accomodate people who want to keep 33" tires on their truck??
Anyways, you just need the bump stops grinded down. I took my truck back to the off road shop to have it done.

I ground a 1/4" off the spindle before I even put the lift on and have never had the problem you guys speak of. Also, there is a metal reinforcement plate that should be installed on the A arm stop to prevent this. Did your shops install these pieces?

I have no idea about that. Before having the shop install the lift, I was aware of the turning radius issue. I just decided to take care of it later down the road.

The shop did not install the reinforcment plates. In fact the whole experience with the install and the numerous problems surrounding it was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a vehicle. Never again will I go to 4 wheel parts for any service. I would not trust them to install a roll of toilet paper. No need for me to go into all the details unless some one was considering going there. Then I could fill you in and hopefully change your mind. Thank you for the info guys. I will grind off 1/4" and check out the procomp web sight or try to contact them for info about the plates. I also need to find about the the brace that mounts to frame as it did not mount flush.

Sorry to hear of the install troubles. Don't let that sour you on Pro Comp though. The kit is quality, I have zero problems with mine. As far as the brace mounting to the frame, there is also a large spacer/washer that goes there to make it mount level. Sounds like they really botched up your install. If you call Pro Comp, they should be able to send you the parts you need. Fixing it shouldn't be a big deal as long as you have some tools. Otherwise go back a fight with 4WP's, but it's probley better to cut your loses and fix it yourself. :( If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a PM. I did my own install so I have a pretty good idea on what's there. :)
