Idiot gave me a 15208-65F00 instead of a 15208-9E000.
I didn't even notice until I dropped the old filter into the box when cleaning up.
I bought 4 so I could throw a few on the shelf and they're all wrong. The 65F00 is for the FX45/Murano/G35/350Z. It's identical other than being 1/2" shorter.
Has this ever happen to anyone here? Should be fine until wednesday when I can swap them but it's still pain.

Hmmmm. Nope never happened before. Im sorry you have to go through more BS than needed. Im sure it will be ok until then. As long as the center and the edges match, I dont see a problem.

It's identical other than the height. No clue about the inside though.

Aparently Nissan is phasing out the 9E000 and replacing it with the 65F00. So it wasn't actually a mistake.
It would have been nice if they told me that in the first place.

Is the 65F00 bigger than the original?

????I haven't heard anything about this and we go through about 150 of the 9E's a week. I'll have to be sure and ask our Nissan rep about it next time I see him.

Just stopped at Nissan yesterday to get a filter and the 9E000 is still the one listed on their computer for the Titan. I even asked if there was a change or going to be, so he checked and said no.

The only difference in the oil filters between say a 4 cylinder altima, a 3.5 maxima and the Titan is the Volume/capacity. I believe that most nissans and infinity's have the same threads and gasket size. My Honda Pilot is the same size filter as my Titan too! You could pretty much use any nissan filter, but the smaller ones would have to be changed more often on our titan.

so if they are smaller and have to be changed more that means they arent arent the right ones i bet that they wont filter the same either

I'm thinking my truck may have come from the factory with the short filter. The first time I changed the oil I noticed right away that it was the same size filter I used previously in a Nissan Xterra and Nissan Maxima. The Mobil 1 part number is M-110. Does any one know if the M-110 is the short filter or the long filter?

They should reimburse you for the oil that you'll lose when you replace the filter...
