Alright guys I'd like to see where they rate in your book, I know toyota has the reputation of for being the most reliable, but nissan makes some great motors. I had an 86 300z with 210,000 miles on it I beat the living crap out of it and it still ran great did'nt use any oil and made silly power for a 6cyl engine if I get the same performance out of my titan after 200,000 miles I will be one happy camper. Anybody have any stories? I know toyo makes great vehicles as does honda but I never hear anyone talking about nissan quality, Anyway just thought it'd be cool to get some opinions on the subject.

This is my first "Non-big-3" vehicle ever, so I can't offer much history. I haven't heard bad things, so....no news is good news???

When I lived in Japan in the late 90's -- Toyota was #1, followed by Honda, Nissan and Mazda. Mazdas are to Japanese what "American Motors" (slash) Rambler was to Americans -- great cars, however, not a popular reputation for some reason.

I think Toyota is overrated I have had several of them ( Pick up ,fourunner, Supra, Celica,Camry.) I really found them to be average cars. Honda I have only had their Motorcycles and ATVs with good results they are excellent quality machines. Nissan I have had two Maximas and a little pickup. The Maximas were the best cars I ever owned. The Nissan engines seem to be their strength. Look at all the old Sentra's arround with 200k miles on them. The owners of those cars want as much money for them as an old honda Accord . I think The import cars are still way ahead of the american counterparts.

My brother had an '83 sentra that ran forever. Pretty crude machine but I was impressed anyway. Next he bought a used '95 pickup that ran just as well. Even had some snot to it. I had an underlying impression that this company was a sleeper; lots of quality but without the price of a huge reputation.

We had an '83 Honda Accord SE 2 door that was totally loaded and ran really well. No problems at all. It was a super car, nice balance of looks, performance, comfort and roominess. I still miss it.

No disrespect to Toyota, I just don't care for the ergos and styling on many of their vehicles. The 4runner was a dog and you pretty much had to sit on the floor with your legs out, not down (Front Seat anyway) Yes they were built well and ran forever, just not my style.

I'd be surprised if the quality of the Titan was a letdown. So far I'm happy with it. No worries :D :D :D

yeah this is basicly how I feel also I was just wondering why nissan has'nt gotten the reputation yet. Toyota does not have anything that interests me, honda is ok I had an old prelude that was awesome don't even remember the year off hand though.

I have to admit that this Endurance engine feels really good so far and I hope it lives up to its name because I keep vehicles for a long time and plan on keeping this one for a minimum of 5 years. The transmission is also the best I've had on an automatic. We also have a 2003 Mazda MPV and it has already had a couple of transmission TSBs done with only ~20,000 miles (otherwise a nice vehicle). I expect some things to eventually get worn on the Titan but am hoping for no major break downs. IMO, the auto industry as a whole has improved build quality of their power plants over the last 5 years.
