How did you wire your lights?

Did you use the existing harness? or ran a new one?

Give me some suggestions, if you can.

Thanks man,

I've done it before myself. But, I was curious if I could use the "factory" wiring that's already there.

any ideas?

if you have an SE it should be prewired for foglights... I think :)

Ditto.........I did OE Foglights on my SE. On the 05's (except 4X2) there are two plugs taped near the foglights just wanting to be plugged into something. Are you wanting to put somewthing wild on or what? Does the '04 have the plugs pre-wired?

Yeah, I know about the wires, I've got them. What I need to know is, where to do I tie into the factory wiring in the steering column? I would like to use the current plugs, but they go to the steering column. So, is it worth the trouble to us the wires there, or run "new" wires?

I would get the factory turn signal switch with the fog light switch in it, It comes with the factory fog light kit that costs about 160, so I can't see that switch being more than about 60 bucks alone. That would give you a nice clean install and you wouldn't have to run any new wires.

That's kinda the route I was leaning towards.

Thanks

Hey firecracker, if you price out the new column switch let us know how much it is. I've been curious about this as well.

I have done it. I used the existing wiring which is plenty for 55w fogs. I used the Hella 2500 series lights. They are much much brighter than the factory 35w headlight type bulbs. These are H3 blubs. All I did was tap into the stock wiring for + and - and bought only the factory switch for around 60, and it worked like a champ. Takes a little modification to the stock hole location to make them mount good with a extra support braket to help them from bouncing (the stock location has no metal its all plastic). But well worth the extra time and less money.

Thanks, Beast! I know someone had already done it.

That's exactly what I was talking about. :D

Can anyone tell me why the '05 SE 4X2 isn't wired for fog lights? Does someone think that 4X2 trucks won't encounter fog???

This oddity has me baffled.

My 04 SE 4x2 was wired already. You sure it isn't?

I'm not sure if this will help, but I ordered my fog lights from Mossy and they plugged right into the factory wiring harness. It came with the signal stalk that plugged directly into the steering column. I have an '04 4x4 SE K/C and the whole process took me all of 20 minutes. Even with a VERY disorganized garage.

My order came well packaged and complete. It was a no fuss process. I recommend Mossy.

He said aftermarket not factory. The factory ones suck if you want to use them as fogs.

Hey Beast305, I was just trying to help another Titan owner out. Obviously I wasn't clear as to what he was looking for. Maybe that's why I said "I'm not sure this will help".

Thanks for setting me straight. Appreciate it.
