: Titan meet today in Canton, MI
Just returned from our meet today. Not a bad turn out... the weather was cooperative.
Everyone in attendance received the timing advance for $30... prizes were raffled off and we all had a good time.
My sincere gratitude to Nick Brown and all of the folks @ Dick Scott for allowing us to hold this event, especially to the people in the service dept. for staying open, just for us.
Here are some pics.
Thanks to all who came out!:)
Kingoftheroad 09-23-2006, 04:29 PM Looks like a good time!!
Transformer 09-23-2006, 07:21 PM Wow ... i wish I had been there (lol). It did look like a great time was had by all.
Kurt,
The turnout wasn't bad... but we were expecting a few more folks. I think that the threat of thunderstorms might have prevented them from attending. We were lucky though, the rain stayed away the whole time we were all there. We had the opportunity to welcome 2 new Titan owners and I think they went away with "mod fever".
Andy:)
Transformer 09-23-2006, 07:45 PM I bet they did Andy. I did ..... and i already had "the fever" lol. Great job man, the pictures looked awesome !! Wish I could have been there!!
TitanCritter 09-23-2006, 11:27 PM and thanks to andy for again setting this up. someone has to do the legwork, and he did a great job.
coyotesniper 09-23-2006, 11:29 PM Looks like you guys had a good time.
Steve05156 09-24-2006, 01:30 PM Andy, Great job, Real great price on the advance timing. The folks couldn't ask for anything more.
Boy, I did miss a real good meet.
95Wolverine 09-24-2006, 07:12 PM Applause for Andy. Not only was he the lead dog on the legwork but he also acquired all the raffle prizes. Yet again, he talked the dealership into the service department being open in order to do the timing advance and as if that wasn't enough, chewed on them until it was down to the $30.00 mark. I'd have gladly paid the $60.00 they originally quoted so I suppose I could owe Andy a meal or two or maybe some brews. Then again, maybe he'd rather I install a mod or two. Anything come to mind Andy?
As for the meet itself, I had a very enjoyable time. Met some new faces and got to visit with a couple I already know.
As for my behavior leaving the dealership, I must apologize. Not having driven my newly modded (Timing Advance) Titan, I was taken aback at the excessive tire rotation and squalling when leaving the dealership drive. It took a few seconds to realize it was me and that if I took my foot off the accelerator that it would stop. I must say, while it was happening, I liked it. I then realized it's likely not the sort of attention that the D!ck Scott wanted to draw as all these Titans sat in the lot. I tried to call and apologize to Nick, but no one would answer the phone. I guess I'll have to call back in on Monday. So, to my fellow Titaneers, I am sorry (well sorta). lol
To all of the folks that joined us yesterday, thanks for coming out.
It was great to see some familar faces, as it was meeting the new ones. I have to agree with Wolverine that the timing advance really put a smile on my face... I actually sqealed the tires leaving Dick Scott (with VDC on!)
I met with the GM of Dick Scott after everyone had left and he said that come spring of '07, they would be putting on another meet such as the one yesterday. However, they wanted to include the 300/350 Z car club as well as the Titans... all in all, there'll be something else to look forward to!
Cujo (Andy)
JNFTitan 09-26-2006, 04:41 PM I liked the idea of him using part of his vacant property next door (17 acres) for a small 4x4 track and mudhole !
Cujo, go put a post in the dealership section with a few kind words for the Dick Scott crew, they are a pretty good bunch and 30 $ timing advances can't be sneezed at either. After all the negative complaining that hits that dealership thread a few kind words always go a long way.

Jeff:
You are right... I just posted positive comments over on the dealership section.
Thanks.

Man, sounds like you did a bang up job Andy!! Okay, for you LNDBYR ... have ya been to Ferconos (sp?) Pizza lately there in Grand Haven (lol)? It just so happens to be my wifes all time favorite pizza place. I think I would have to agree with her. I just wish they would get some AC units installed for the summer months (lol).
Sorry for the Hyjack Andy, sounds like the Meet was a success!

Yes I have, over Labor Day weekend freinds were back here from St. Louis and we have a gathering and ordered 15 pizzas (Fricano's).
How on earth do you guys know about that place, isn't it a little far for carryout?
Mr. Kurt visits Pentwater each summer. That must be where he goes to eat when he's up there! I've been there just once and I have to agree that the food is awesome.
Cujo
Transformer 09-27-2006, 09:54 AM I had NO idea how to spell it so thks for the correction (lol) but when we eat there my wife also takes some 1/2 cookd ones back to Pentwater (an hr drive) as well.
Funny story, a patient at our dental office use to play cards (believe it or not) with the owner of that place ... and apparently the secret ingredient is goats milk cheese. No kiddin.
Man that place sure does have awesome pizza !! It's probably the most unique I have ever had.
Again Andy .. sounds like you really delivered an AWESOME Meet bro !! I sure had a blast chatting with you at the Jersey one.
You and I were the low key guys there (lol).
Shyster54 10-06-2006, 04:10 AM Sorry I had to miss this...
The wife was returning from Sweden and I think she'd have taken a dim view of my being absent when she arrived...lol
