This setup looks very interesting! I have a few inquiries out to a few of their dealers and to the manufacturer themselves. Anyone heard of them? They seem to be pretty influental in the racing world.

Oh yeh I have heard of them. I even posted an article way back in the first month of this site when they were looking for a Titan to do some testing on in exchange for free stuff. http://www.clubtitan.org/article5.html
I think they are pretty big into the small car street scene. Very eye catching products.

Hmmm . . . Seems on par price wise with most intakes out there???

I used to sell the Weapon-R line and they were not the best of quality. I think almost every one I sold had some sort of fitment issue. I also think that price is way too high for what it is. You would be far better off with the AEM for a few bucks more. If they were alot less money it might be worth looking into but for about the same price there are better options I think. :)

Oh man Qwik! Just rain on my parade! You know, I really want to try something different so I may take a chance on it anyway, against your advice . Just know that your objection is noted and you can feel free to thoroughly flame me if it turns out to be a huge mistake. It seems alot of people are having fitment issues with the almighty Volant lately too so I am thoroughly prepared to use my brain on the install of whatever intake I decide on. Do you know if the filter on the Weapon-R intake needs to be oiled??? It is a foam filter right??? Are there any problems with driving in the rain with intakes like the AEM or Weapon-R? I know that is one advantage to the Volant, your filter is in a box.

I would never flame, I'm not that kinda person! lol :D It is a foam filter and I think they do us oil, but I don't remember. They remind me of a filter element you would see on a lawn mower. At least they did in the past when I sold them. (Over 5 years ago) As for the water issue, I wouldn't see it being too big of a deal but if you plan to offroad or plow thru those big azz puddles you may have a problem. This is the main reason that I haven't got an intake yet becuase they all seem to svck! (no pun intended) :) I can't see spending that kind of money on something that isn't top quality. :) That being said, let us know how it goes when you get it. And I hope I'm wrong about it. :D 8)

You know, you took the words right out of my mouth! I never procrastinate on a mod like this but it just seems like all the intakes have their qwirks. What happen to the days when you could buy a CAI for your import car for $100??? :? :? :?

Ok!!! That's it!!! I have absolutely had it with these two bit companies releasing products for sale on their website when the products aren't even available!!!!! :redfaced: :redfaced: :redfaced: :redfaced: :redfaced: :redfaced:

I just talked with Weapon R and they are saying the intake system for the Titan is still 3 months out!!!!! Why the Hell is it listed for sale then???? This is just bad business in my opinion. I know why they do it. They want to see the response they will get prior to a large production run. Well I am sick and tired of these A-Holes wasting my time. "Pay for the freaking market research you imbisols!!!" My new approach is going to be, if you advertise something for sale you haven't even made yet, I will NEVER EVER buy it!!! :nono: :nono: :grrr: :grrr:

Ok, I'm done venting. :noway:

Ah yes! The old pulley powered intake. :) Unfortunately I think it is going to be out of my budget. I heard Stillen already has two Titans running around with the SC on them. Maybe I will stop by there sometime and see if any of them are available to see. They are only 30 minutes or so away. Any word on price yet???

I have seen and tested Weapon R products. There build quality and fitment sucks. In the racer world they are considered low budget intakes. Just my .002 :D

I would also stay away from metal piping. I know it looks good and all , but it will get heat soaked, so your engine is huffing down hot air. If you can try to stick with a plastic pipe , like the old ice man systems. Just giving some advice. hehe

I'm waiting on a Ram-air Hood-to-Filter Box Setup!!!
(or, Cowl-induction)

I saw on TRUCKS!, they were Advertising Bully-dog products, and showed a Ram-air Hood to Filterbox on a Chevy Diesel, I Thought looked Sweeet!

--Has anyone seen a Titan on TRUCKS! yet?

Sorry, wrong Thread.

Probley out of my price range too but I can dream I guess. :D I haven't heard anything on price yet so that would be cool if you can "pop in" at Stillen and see if you can get some pics and pricing info. I'm just a little bit farther away than you over here on the east coast! 8O

lol, I have the same opinion about Weapon-R. I wonder what ever happened to those Iceman intakes? I almost forgot about that brand, haven't heard of it in years. I sold a few of those too. They were pricey but seemed really good quality. I still like the Volant best, but too many fitment issues for that kind of money.

Yeah , I dont know what happen to ice man, they need to come back. If i was to get a intake , I would use my stock plastic pipe and just put a air filter with a divider on it. But I dont know if i want to mess with the truck. hehe

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it. I wonder why then if Aluminum Tubes make that big a difference in performance, why would a performance oriented company like AEM use them??? Plastic has got to be cheaper to use than Aluminum??? Other than looks, I don't get it . . .

I would have to say they make them that way ourely for looks. You have to figure that probley 90% of the people just buy them for the look and sound. :)

Yeah , I would say that a metal intake pipe would sound alot meaner then a plastic intake pipe, anyone care to do a test and post up the result?

You know I'm reviving this post to say that I was looking at the Weapon R intakes, but wanted to find out about it. I did a search on yahoo on them, and CluTitan poped out, good thing because I was going to ask some opinions about this intake. After seen some of yals posts, I decided not to get this. I'm kinda resitant about getting something unknown, even though they advertise this "high tech" technology.
Old Club Titan always saving the day.

Over at TT a supporting vendor came on to say he has this system for sale, next thing you know he got bombarded by comments such as it's a POS and such. Well Ray from Weapon-R came on and explained the system and a member over there actualy got a set up for testing.

I like the way it goes all the way to the original fender hole, you can probably add a ram air channel there. I like the look of it too, but I'll be waiting on those dynos. I actualy found a site where I can get one for $260.00. On that same site, the Volant is $280.00
