I did not see this posted anywhere but I get a whislting high pitch noise when I fill up with gas. The pitch actually gets higher when it is almost full. It does not seem to matter which gas station I get gas at.
I know it is from the gas replacing the air in the gas tank and coming out the filller tube.
I have filled up many times as you all know how much they eat gas. :pigout: and it makes the noise every time.
I was wondering if anyone elso noticed this or has this.
I have NEVER heard it on any of my previous 10 vehicles I have owned.
I know you are too young to know this, but back in the '50s this was a feature on some cars. This was before the auto-shutoff gas nozzles, and the tank would whistle until it was near full. That way you knew when to slow down the flow so you wouldn't overflow the tank.

I do not hear this sound, but I believe what you're hearing is the money actually being siphoned out of your bank account as the gas goes in. Happens to me at least once a week, but I can't hear it.

According to some posts on that other board, some people have been reporting that their fuel filler hose has a kink in it and has been causing noise or premature shutoff of the pump nozzle while filling.
I have not had any premature shutoff (thank god it don't need viagra). It just whistles at me.
Yes I am a little too young, I was born in the early 60's and my oldest car owned was a 68 Mustang.
Has anyone here had the gas spit back out at them? I have not.
