Probably just marketing.

Mobile says that the Mobile 1 for Trucks/SUV has more anti-oxidation additives.

I think Mobil 1 T&SUV is an A5A5-B1B5 rated oil whereas the standard Mobil 1 is only a A1B1. T&SUV oil should be a more robust longer life oil.

I'd still buy Extended Performance over this. It does very well and can be bought for $25 in a 5 quart jug a walmart.

*edit*

ACEA A5 is a "longlife" classification, A1 is not. A5 is stricter than A1. Regular M1 also has a high mileage spec while T&SUV is not

Yeah baby!!! 5-gallon jug deal at Wally World is the way to go! :)

I wasted my time by going to Auto Zone first, then I walked out cussing under my breath about the $7/Qt they wanted...

guys, be gentle on a noobie...
when you are buying your oil at wall-mart, are you changing your own oil or just buying it cheaper and then going to your local lube shop.
I ask because I realy don't want to change my own oil but I'm coming up on my second oil change and I'm thinking about switching to moble1 syn.

Many Walmarts have an oil change bay. I'd bring your own filter though. They use the regular frams. Usually costs about $35 with Mobil 1.

I personally change my own oil.

If not, buy the oil and go to a service shiop and they will usually do it for you if you give them five or ten bucks.

Anything that doesn't say fram. :D

Seriously though, purolator, wix, bosch, Mobil, ect...

Just pick a name brand.

I'm partial to the Purolator PureOne PL14459

I'd highly recommend changing your own oil. Its an easy job, you will save money and have peace of mind that it was done right.

...and you won't need an air compressor to remove the damned drain bolt the next time...

That's always a good thing....since I don't have an air compressor.....but I do have a breaker bar that works well.

I made my own breaker bar out of a piece of wood I had laying around. Just drill a hole in the end the size and depth of the handle on your ratchet. Works excellent and sure beats paying upwards of $20-30 for one!

I buy the 15000 mile moble one at walmart (2-5qt jugs cuz truck takes 7qts, then next time only have to buy one) and let nissan change it at the reg service interval-7500miles. That way there is no question for nissan whether I did it or not, and since I'm getting the full mileage service which includes oil, it's not that much more.
