I am seriously looking into a suspension lift and tire and wheel package later. I did some comparison between the two kits price wise strictly as I do not have any experience with suspension lifts in general. So, if you guys can chime in as far as the price, quality, reputation, etc. it would be greatly appreciated.

Rancho 4" Lift from TruckPerformance.com (3/30 availability)

4" front 2 1/2 rear - 1402.49
2 front Rancho RS5000 Hi-Perf Shocks - 131.74
2 rear Rancho RS5000 Hi-Perf Shocks - 85.62
1-2 week shipment

Total - 1785.84 (freight included - 165.99)

Fabtech 6" Lift from PerformanceLifts.com

6" black basic lift - 1279
4 sets of Rancho RS5000 - 159.80
All in stock

Total - 1438.80 (free ground shipping)

That's $350 difference I can apply towards a tire package.

Thanks,
flipper

What do you guys think.

Does the fabtech just have a spacer in the front or does it actually give you more suspension travel? Do you want to just raise your truck for appearance only or do you want to increase offroad capability as well?

Does the rancho have a spacer only for the front or does it increase your suspension travel as well. Do you want to do a full 6 inches or do you just want to raise a little and level? I saw an advertisement in a magazine for a Titan 6 inch lift that didn't require any cutting of your truck which I'm a big fan of. If you IM me I'll find it and give you the info.

I'd checkout the Pro-Comp 6" lift, direct bolt on (no cutting or welding and I think no drilling), the Fabtech requires some or all of that. I have also heard of some minor driveline issues with the Fabtech and I haven't seen much in the way of negative coments for the Pro-Comp. There is also a group buy going on over at TT if your ready to shell out soon.

One last thing the Rancho has just come out, if it is even available yet so if your leaning that way I'd wait a few months to see what people have to say about it.

Hope I didn't confuse things.

I am 100% with Louie on this one! I have seen both the Procomp and Fabtech 6" lifts in person and I would go Pro Comp any day of the week. The raw parts just seem beefier and better constructed. Some advantages to the Pro Comp 6" is:

1) It maintains strict factory alignment.
2) Factory offset wheels can be used.
3) It is completely bolt-on.
4) The techs at 4 Wheel Parts say it is by far the better of the two kits and they sell and install both.

From what I've heard, Rancho stuff in general is not all it's cracked up to be and way overpriced!

I have been looking at the 4" or 6" i am really concerned about the 6" and ride and comfort
I am hoping that the 4 " will not be as bad as the 6"
has anyone installed the 4" yet
also how has the ride changed on the 6" lifts anybrand
has the ride become more rough enough to really notice how about tire and outside noise
I will be using my truck as rolling office just about in it all the time i drive about 24000 give or take a year so i want to be able to have a comforable ride without beating me to death like my lowered Hemi does
Hence the reason i am asking so many questions and trying to make the right decision the first time since i really messed upo the Dodge
