: Gas Mileage?

Hey guys, I have a 2004 LE 4x4 CC with around 1100 miles on it. (I purchased it from a dealer who had a left over '04) I checked my milage today and got around 13 miles to gallon. Half of the tank of gas was interstate driving and the other was around town. I know that Titans are not know for gas mileage but I at least thought it would get close to what the sticker suggested. (14 in town, 18 on road) I am 52 years old and drive it like an "old-man" is suppose to, moderate speed with a few quick starts when needed. My question to all you who have had your Titans for a while, does the gas mileage get better as it gets broke in? Thanks for your reply!!

Well it seems to be all over the board. My last two tanks I got 15.6 and 15.5. I drive 30 miles each way to work and do a bit of town driving in between. And I don't drive easy but I'm not too hard on her.

On long trips I get pretty good mpg. The best was all freeway and it was 19.4 and I can live with that.

But it does seem that I am in the minority. There is a MPG chart you can download on the site and keep track of it. I have thought about doing but have not jumped on it yet.

Don't feel bad. I have consistenly been getting around 14 mpg. However, the past 2 days I've driven clients around and gotten nearly 16 mpg, and that's with constant stop and go driving. Man, I must be a lead foot because I thought that I normally drive pretty easy, but the past 2 days proved that I don't drive as nice as I thought.

That sounds about normal, just like what everyone else is saying..It may get alittle better as you get some miles on the vehicle, but who knows...Alot of people want us (at the dealer) to check the vehicles for fuel milage not being what they figured...Unfortunately there is nothing we can really do unless the check engine light is on..The numbers on the sticker is just an estimate..ALL manufactorers I have worked for have the same viewpoint on this...you get what you get..

Last I checked mine was 14.7 mpg. It's a truck, I don't expect any better.

The mileage really isn't a concern to me either since I don't pay for gas. But I like the idea of keeping a log, if for no other reason than just knowing what I get.
I've had a few people, after hearing my truck, make comments about the gas mileage eating me up. They've been shocked to hear the mods have thus far actually increased the mileage from 13, to almost 16 mpg. That's just over 1 mpg away from my Xterra(17 mpg), lol. So I'm keeping track of it until it gets about 15-20k miles on it.

I pretty much quit keeping track of mine, but I averaged anywhere between 13(back and forth to work) and 18 on 55mph highways. I do have a very heavy right foot, so as long as I get over 10, I'm happy. After all, it is just a truck.

I have been getting around 13.5 per gal it does seem to be getting better around town though. I will say this I would rather get 1mpg less than lets say a f150 and have the sack to back it up jmho.

I got 13.5 on my first tank. I'm now at almost 10K miles and get a pretty consistant 14.8-15.5 MPG. Still slightly increasing.

I'm getting maybe 13 on my '04 CC with Big Tow gearing, and 3K on the odometer. Of course that's with crummy winter blend gas and sometimes 4WD in the snow, which finally seems to be on the way out.

The best I averaged was 14.5 on a 100 mile ski trip, even though much of which was cruising at 80 - 85 (found myself in a nice little convoy of Ontario plates, heading back to Canada).

I didn't pay attention to the gas mileage the first 500 miles but since then the worst I've gotten with all hard city driving was 12.25 and the best was 16.74 which was all highway. I've got 1500 miles on the truck now and it may get a little better but I don't expect much.

10,000 miles and I average 14's to 15's in the city and around 18mpg on long trips running mostly 70mph. Not to bad considering I have a 4x4.
