Ok for the transfer case it calls for matic D. I know in the manual if we were in Canada we could use Dexron. I called the dealership service dept and asked them if matic D and Dexron where compatible and of course they said no. Then when i asked them how come in Canada you could use Dexron? They were stumped. Is Matic D and Dexron III compatible? Can we use Dexron III in our transfer case? I was wanting to switch it out to Royal Purple ATF.

Many people claim that Matic D and Dexron III are the same and you will be fine using it. But for peace of mind, I would stick with the matic D. That way if there ever is a failure and they have a sample tested, there will be no warranty denial.

After all, if the chemical compound does not come back as Matic D, they will deny warranty and you will spend whatever it takes out of your pocket.
