: Can I disable the remote-window b.s????
Okay, this is the second time the front windows of my 04 SE Crew Cab have been accidentally rolled down. This time it poured rain all over the interior. The seats are soaked. The center console is soaked. The Steering wheel, dash, and not to mention the door panels are soaked.
I'm ready to turn off this useless and bothersome option.
Any info on programming the keyfob would be greatly appreciated.
LDOTITAN 04-01-2005, 10:44 PM I don't know about reprgramming the key fob, but until you figure that out, how about locking the windows when you get out of the truck. It will help until you can figure out how to disable it all together.
littlebuddha19 04-01-2005, 10:52 PM Heres a thread that might help. Just scroll down to the reprogram guide. That's all i can do.

I agree, Jerm. I "accidentally" rolled both my front windows all the way down at work the other day by having the remote in my pocket. It wasn't raining, but I did have my laptop sitting in the front seat.
This IS a useless feature to me and I wish I could turn it off as well...
Ya the option is definately a nuisance. I called 2 different dealerships in town and they know nothing about it. Surely there's a way to turn it off. It's just a matter of finding someone who knows something about it.

Hi Jerm,
scr38 did a great how to on programming the key fob but I can't find it in our how to section. I don't know what happened to it. Anyhow, I looked in the service manual and all it goes through is how to program it initially and then how to turn the horn off for the locked signal. It makes no mention on how to turn off the auto window down function except with the use of a Consult II. It appears one of the menu options will turn this function off. And of course only the dealers have the consult II. If they don't know I'm not sure what to recommend. Perhaps someone else can chime in here if they've had it done at a dealer.
Here is your answer. Go to your dealer and have a tech use the Consult II to change the programming. Look at this excerpt from the SM:
Wow, i'm amazed at the power these forums. I've been reading them since I bought my Titan in Dec. Now i'm a member and it's great to interact with such knowledgable people.
Thanks for the info. I"m gonna talk to the service dept about programming that bad boy.
PowerT 04-03-2005, 02:53 PM I didn't even know the windows could be controlled by the fob???? I guess I'll have to read my manual afterall. :learn:

LOL!!!!!!
Ya, PowerT
You just hold down the unlock button for 5 seconds and the 2 front windows roll down. You can roll them back up from the outside of the vehicle by turning the key and holding it for a couple seconds. It's a neat option, However It'll bite you in the butt if they get rolled down without you knowing it.
mdinkle 04-03-2005, 05:46 PM You can also roll down the front windows with the key in the door lock. Just turn it to the unlock position and keep it turned for about 3-5 seconds. The windows will start to lower, just reutrn the key to verticle and they will stop.
mytmax98 06-05-2005, 07:39 AM I tradedin my maxima for my titan. The maxima had this feature too. When I was living in Texas, I used it all of the time. I wouldn't call it a useless feature. When it is 115 degrees outside, it is extrememly hot in the car. If you roll down those window for a minute or two, it helps a lot. However, as all of you have mentioned, it really blows when they go down because you leaned over at work or something like that and you don't realize you just rolled down your windows.
