hey what's up? i just bought my titan a few days ago. i have 130miles on it. when i'm fully stopped, right when i accelerate, like a fraction before moving, it has this weird feel to it. i don't know what it exactly is? if sorta feels like a slippage feel maybe, well not slippage, but a werid feeling. i only feel it when i give it gas slow, not real slow but slow. when i accelerate a little quicker, i don't feel athing. could it be because the truck hasn't been broken in yet? when i test drove a titan at the dealer ship, it was obvisiously new but had 5300miles on it. so that one was well broken in.

oh yeah another thing. are all titans equiped with the dana axel in the rear? i'm 2wd and mine has it.

Hi mudfinder,

I'm not sure what you're feeling when you accelerate. Does it feel like a clunk when you accelerate or is it better described as slipping like you stated earlier?

As far as the dana axles, yes they all have them.

not a clunk, but more like a slippage feel but doesn't acutally slip. it's hard to describe it. but i'm not worried about it.

It wouldn't hurt to take it to the dealer and have them check the ATF fluid level just to make sure it's ok. Tell them what you're feeling on acceleration and hopefully they'll check it for you, or you can do it yourself. Just look in the "how to" section we have here and there's a thread on how to check it.

see, it feels like the teeth somewhere are catching, may there's play in between them.

i think i have what your describing, its when you let off the brake pedal right away from a stop right, it doesnt happen if you slowly start releasing it, and it feels sort of like the rear brakes let go for a split moment then grab for a second then release, i also dont know how to explain it lol

Is it only when the engine is cold? I have noticed there is a calibration issue causing a cold chuggle. I think it has something to due with the low idle fuel vs the demande fuel when cold causing it.

i would just say to take it to the dealer and have them drive it. you could also ask some one to drive your truck for you while you sit in the passenger seat and see if you notice it sitting there or your driver feels it.
one more thing would be to test drive another new titan with no miles on it and see if it feels the same.

I think mine acted kinda like that for a while then tightend up since. I think

i took it to the dealer today and told them what was going on. they told me that it's my limited slip. they described it as: as soon as your accelerate, when one tire starts spinning, the other wheel catches and the catching is what i'm feeling. so i'm so releved about that, and that it's normal.. other than that, i still got to get used to the shifting but i gotta say, i love it so dam much, it's great!!!!

If that is the case then I would try and pull the abs fuse and see if it still does it. We really don't have limited slip, well kinda I guess. The abs controls slip when sensed and tries to act like a limited slip. If you pull the fuse and it still does it there there is another problem

If your above post is corect then it is not the ABLS system kicking in. You state when you give it gas slowly...this should not cause a tire to spin. If no tire spins then your ABLS system should not be kicking on. Also you should have a light that tells you when this thing turns on and off. So unless I'm missing something....Go Fish.
