Just finished changing the rear diff oil today and cleaning up the cover. I pulled the old cover so I could see what it looked like inside. Everything looks good. Filled it up with 75-140 synthetic, 76 ounces to fill. I decided to wait a little longer to see what kind of after market covers come out in the next year before I replace it.
This is the second change for me. First one was done last year with about 2000 miles on the truck and the oil was bad nasty stuff when it came out. I filled it with 75-90w synthetic Mobil 1 gear oil then. It came out today not looking too bad. Had about 14,000 miles on it and about 9000 of that was towing our 24' travel trailer. The gears looked OK.
Some pics of the before, during and after are attached. Ohhh, ahhhh.

I know it looked pretty ugly, the result of a New England winter!!
No TSB out for the diff cover, only a change in the recommended oil from 80-90w to 75-140w. I'm hoping NISSAN will do a recall of some sorts for the diff cover eventually but if not I will change it out some time in the future.

I'm planing to change my diff oil soon too. I noticed many on this board saying they "switched" to 75-140 and went synthetic. According to my manuel and a stamp in the diff cover on my '05 I'm only supposed to use synthetic 75-140. I guess this was a change from 04 to'05. I still want to change it to get rid of the break-in crud and so I know what's in it. I'm having a problem finding mobil 1 75-140 locally...can only get 75-90. If anyone knows someone that carries it, let me know.

I couldn't find it locally here either. Ended up ordering it here:

I got mine from Advanced Auto Parts - it was Valvoline and I ended up having to get one bottle at one store and the other two at another store.
