Just wanted to let everyone know that I bought my 2006 Titan at Empire Nissan in Ontario, CA. The person I dealt with is the Fleet Department Manager. His name is Joe Santore. He was a great guy. I dont know if most of you guys know, but Fleet Department is the way to go. Most salesguys will raise up the prices a bit to earn a little extra on their bonus, but the fleet department cares about how much cars they can move in that month. Joe didnt earn any bonus on selling me the truck, but on how many cars they can sell for the month. He didnt pressure me into buying the truck and he also showed me many payment options that I could afford while maintaning a low 3.5%. So hope this helps anyone.

Sounds good, but I can't believe he didn't make a little $$ on the sale.

He is right they dont make commission on each sale they get paided on a monthly basis. They are salary positions that make commission on a monthly basis. I did the same thing when we bought my wifes car, a friend works at the dealership and he put us in touch with the fleet sales manager. She sold us the car for the GM suppliers discount price and showed me the actual invoce sheet the dealer uses to determine the sticker price of the car, we bought a G6 just in case you were confused on why we got a GM discount.

So, how do you get in contact with the Fleet Sales staff? Does every dealership have one or just the BIG ones? I can see where the managers wouldn't get money on each sale but on the # sold, but I thought all sales people got a comish off of their sales. Guess I was wrong again!

Just walk into the dealership and or call ahead of time and ask to speak with the Fleet Manager. They will take care of you because they do get paid on how many units they sell per month. I called ahead of time and even negotiated my price and all of the financing prior to walking into the dealership. It's a great way to go.....

It's best to call the fleet manager ahead of time...most fleet salesmen are also now known as "Internet Specialists" which is a growing replacement for the name "fleet sales."

For many years, fleet salesmen have sold cars to large commercial outlets, major contractors, government agencies, etc.

New Nissan dealer to open soon in Covina, one block north of the 10 Fwy. Since they are new, they might deal better because they have no quota history.

Told him exactly what I wanted and he had it on the truck outside unloading. The only time I did the service dept was for the brake problem everyone had early on. they fixed it in a day and no problems since.
