I'm trying to find a place to mount my Prodigy brake controller. It needs to be level horizontally and between 0 and 70 degrees front to back. Anyone mount one of these?

I did some searching but can't find where anyone says where they mounted the controller.

Quickwhip and Titanhauler both have it I'm sure they will tell you. You might want to send them a PM just to make sure.

It can be mounted at any angle between horizontal and 70 deg. off horizontal. Most of us have mounted it on the lower dash, on either side of the steering wheel, which ever side you like.

Did you have to make a special bracket? I checked where it would be if I mounted the stock bracket to the metal support under the lower dash, and it either interfered with the E-brake or would get wacked by my knee on the other side. Did you put a hole in the lower dash cover to mount it higher?

Mount it on the front of the lower dash (plastic cover). It will be out of the way there. I didn't use the mounting bracket; I used velcro. I used the Nissan supplied harness, and connected it to the controller with a Molex plug (from Radio Shack) so I can unplug the controller and remove it when not in use.
There is no need to cut a hole. You may be misunderstanding the mounting instructions. The unit does not need to mounted horizionally. You can put velcro on the top of the controller and stick it directly to the front of the lower dash.

This is where I mounted mine, I remove the bracket when I'm not using it because I've caught my knee on it while jumping in the truck. There isn't a real good spot in my opinion to permanantly mount one, so I settled on that spot. I can see the light, and use the manual switch with out reaching too far.

Oh, and I don't recommend this model of brake controller, but it was the only one they had on the shelf and I needed it right then.

Here is how I mounted mine. It can be adjusted fairly level and is not in my way at all, but it is in easy reach if you need to get to it to manually get on the trailer brakes.

Thanks for the info and the pics guys. I have some ideas and I'll post pics when I decide on what I'm doing.

Here's a few pics of mine. Very Similar to CTTitan's but I mounted mine right to the metal frame and mine is also a little farther left to not to block the diagnostic port. :)
