Does anyone have a 4x4 Crew without Big Tow, and without Off Road. If so what kind of mileage do you get? Thinking about trading mine in if I can improve mpg. Thanks for the help

You won't see enough gain to offset the huge lose you will have in the trade. :D

I think the same way. Even if it was 1-2 mpg better (which it isnt), it still wouldnt be enough to make up for the $$ lost in a trade. All that Endurance power comes at a cost.

lol, you really do have to step back and look at the truck, then ask yourself.. "Do I really expect this to get good gas mileage?" lol :D

For some reason, someone with a loaded to the gill Titan LE, with "more to come" mods, doesn't strike me as one to be that concerned with mileage.

Come clean, Titan(rich)man!!!

A 340 cubic inch pickup with good gas mileage? Kinda like eating three Big Macs on a veggie-only diet and expecting a weight loss.

You can always trade in for a V-4 Banger Toyota or Chevy S-10....

Mr. T, Don't get me wrong, this is a badass truck. I just get the red *** when I fill up for about $45 and only have about 260 miles on a tank. How did the Volant and Gibson help your mileage? That's the next "more to come" but I have to save my quarters! Have a good one, or a cold one!

This just hurts to hear. :crying:
Before I bought my Titan I thought about a Hybrid.
There is no comparison. (even the new Honda)
The price of the gas is the cause of the problem not the truck. Get a Bike, I did (750cc's) it is my commuter. It still gets about 26+/-mpg so...
After all that work and such, I would hate to see you make that jump.
I started looking for a new truck cause my Dodge had about 8 mpg and I needed something better and I found it! A bigger and better truck. 15+/- mpg is not bad for the power. Good luck!

I agree with all the above posts.........pllleassssssssssssseeeeeeee do not trade it in for anything else. You will lose too much

:money:

like I did even when I traded in my F-150 for the Titan. I got taken about
4K (even though I don't want to admit it!)

:airhead:

But one thing I have to admit, I like the Titan alot.

Damn, you could trade in for a 4x2 King Cab XE with no options and it still wouldn't make up for the loss in trade..no offense but If you want a Full size truck, be prpared to pay for the gas...at least irs not a 7 MPg Suburban

My brother-in-law's Suburban gets 17-18 mpg on the highway. Overall he gets better gas mileage than me.

how many miles are on your truck... i was gettin 10mpg up until like 4500miles, i would go 270-280 a tank of midgrade fuel in a base xe, now i get about 15- 16, i put 20 gal ($45) and i went 300+ miles

I've got a SE KC without Big Tow and I always get between 15-16 MPG. Last week I pulled my boat, 3500#'s, and checked it when I filled up and I still got 15.1 that tank towing the boat roughly 160 miles.

I'm not sure what you are getting now...but any vehicle with a final gear ratio of about 4:10 is going to see some good fuel comsumption. Even while towing at 65 in 4th I'm only running 2k rpms. I think you run about 400 more with the big tow. In OD I'm running about 1650 RPM's at 65.

But it seems no matter what you do with this truck your never going to get anything better unless you drive really conservative and on the freeway. It's not geared for cruising it's geared for pulling.

How is everyone tonight? Still waiting to get the Gibson to see if I get any change but like I've read, the way this thing is geared it probably won't make a big difference. The best I got was 16.5 on a 200 mile trip doing 60-70 90% of the time. Whatever I don't like about the mileage, every time I hear "Dam that's a fine truck" it makes up for it.

I have the same truck as you do and the best I have gotten is 14.5. I have not taken any long trips yet, 50 miles at the most.

I've got a little over 11k on the clock, with only a K&N filter and Air-box mod. If I keep the RPMs at or below 2000rpm (70mph), I get 16mpg on the highway, and 14mpg mixed (That's WITH the Occasional "Oops I Touched the Floor-board!")LOL!

I just get the red @ss when I fill up for about $45 and only have about 260 miles on a tank.

I fill up for about $50, and I get close to 300 miles per tank, with a couple gallons left still, usually. I would consider adding an intake and exhaust system to your 4X4 before trading in for a 4X2.

I have a 4x, CC bigtow offroad and on the last couple tanks I have averaged about 13.7. I changed my oil in late January and I've only put about 1200 miles on it since then so I haven't been doing much driving other than my 8 mile in town round trip to work. I'm happy with over 13 when I'm just driving her back and forth to work. I start it up, drive about 2 miles, it sits running at the gas station for about 5 minutes while I get my breakfast then another 2 miles to work. Same on the way home.

On highway trips, I usually average over 16. Now that its warming up, I expect to start racking up the miles again.

Thanks for all the response. Before all the gas price increases I did a little calc on cost effect of doing a exhaust and or air intake mod. If you spend $500 and increase by about 2 mpg and avg 1 tank a week you would improve your mpg by about 50mptank. It would take 1 year to recoup your cost.FWIW

Well I have been averaging about 12.5 or so around town. I had to take a 200 mile trip mostly highway and freeway and got 16.8. 2 weeks ago I towed my boat a around 5100 lbs and got 9.2.

She only has 2400 miles on her and I just installed my Volant CAI and did a 50/50 Synthetic Regular Oil change. I expect the mileage to go up. We will see.

I did a 176 mile trip and averaged 17.9 so that was about 1.1 MPG better with the Volant CAI and 50/50 Oil/Synthetic blend.

Around town my average seems to have jumped from 12.2 to about 14.6-15.6.
