today i drove my truck over a 100miles. during the begining of the trip, this crackling sound started comming from the dash, right where the speedometer is. i would tap the dash and it would go away and would come back a while later. the closest sound to it may be rubbing of sytrophone.

I've got that too!
I think its Either just New Plastic (This is my First NEW Vehicle), or they didnt put enuff "foam" in the joint.
Its never been an issue, cuz I keep forgetting to tell the Dealer about it when I go.

Lemme know what you figure out.

I had a similar problem and got it fixed. The plastic piece on top of the steering column was rubbing against the clear piece that covers the speedometer. Dealer fixed it under warranty.
