Depends on your sound preference... I have separate enclosures, one under each side of the seat. Some people on here have one big box that goes all the way across. It also depends on the size of your subs, and how much box they need to sound right.

my box goes all the way across but it is seperated, and the amp is in the middle of the box, i just started fiberglassing it today so it should be done soon.

another question: if you use your stock radio and not an aftermarket one how do u hook up the amp, i no you need the thing that takes the signal from the speakers but how do you hook it up, like power and ground are selfexplanitory but what about the remote and the rc cable, how do you hook up the line converter to the amp?

When I had them hook up my amp, I needed a RCA converter, that way they can wire the line out from the head unit into the RCA jacks on the amp. Other than that its pretty simple. Hope this helps.

that rca converter took the signal from the door speakers and sent it to the amp right? but what about the remote turn on, or does that rca converter act as the turn on?

No. I would recomend hooking up the line converter to the speaker wires from back behind the radio deck. Cut
the speaker wires there and connect the ones closest to the deck to the converter then RCA plug from the converter to the amp. Run your speaker wires from the amp to the other end of the speaker wires that u cut. Make sure that they are the right + - to the correct speaker.
You can wire your REM wire from your amp to the Switched 12v of your harness from your stereo. I beleive that the wire color is Purple. But im not sure use a volt-meter to test.(shows 12v when the ignition is turned)

Ok i thought u were trying to wire up your door speakers to the amp also.
When u cut the wire from the harness connect a wire to both ends of the speaker wire that u just cut making a T. Connect the other part of the T to the converter.
Make a separate T for each wire. Pretty much all that your doing is adding an extra wire so can connect it to the converter

can i just splice the wire cover and combine the converter wire to it like this

normal wire
========================
spliced
============--/-========
/
con wire____/

than cover up with electical tape?

do i have to do it to ever speaker wire or just one set?

just one set should work fine for the subs. But sometimes the audio on some cds have defined audio for a certain speaker(surround sound). I would recommend 2 sets one left and one right.

Ok so the converter goes like this two sets of terminals +- +- and i hook up one to the a set of speakers that go to the left side of the truck and on to the right and then run an rca cable to the amp, then take a single piece of speaker wire and find the purple wire and splice into that for a remote turn on, ok last thing since im scared of messin up my truck how do i get to the back of the deck? how do i remove all the stuff?

and whats a good brand of converter?

Make sure u test the Purple wire first to make sure its the switched 12v ignition.(Don't want u blaming me if not) but im pretty sure it is.
Use the Blue remote wire that came with your amp(Not Speaker wire)
Pretty much any brand of converter will work.
To remove the dash trim all u have to do is stick a Flat tipped screw driver in the the seam at the bottom of the trim right above the cig. plug. Stick it in and push down on the screwdriver towards the carpet and it should pry the trim out. its just held on by clips.
to remove the radio just unscrew the 4 screws.

If you want more power going to your subs, and not getting lost in wiring, you can bridge them out of the amp. If you look there should be something that says Bridged, and shows only one + and one -, hook both sets of wires for the subs in there and they will sound better. At least I think mine sound better wired that way.
