Just wondered if you were at work and signing in or are you just getting up for the day. Myself I work for a trucking company I'm 3rd shift Operations Manager. Nothing big (or fun) but pays the bills. I have been working at the same place for over 11 yrs now.

BiXLL 10-13-2004, 08:20 AM I think we did this before, but we can do it again. I am a Porn star! In my own mind that is!
Actually a tractor trailer driver. I usually drive 420 to 450 miles a night, Pittsburgh to Harrisburg, and return. Occasionally I will do what we call a bed run, and will be gone 1 day, getting around 500 miles each way, ending up in places like Albany NY, NY City, Phili, Trenton, Baltimore.
Caltitan 10-13-2004, 01:40 PM I'm a geologist and project manager for an environmental engineering and consulting firm. Basically deal with hazardous material environmental investigations and clean up of contaminated sites. Titan has been the perfect blend of work truck and commuter that I was hoping it would be. Attached pic is my Titan at a large fuel depot where our firm had an investigation project underway (that was a tough work day wearing Nomex fire resistant suits in 100+ degree heat).
NateL 10-13-2004, 01:50 PM If you want to get technical I'm an Integrated Electronic Systems Technician working for the Department of Defense as a civilian.
Not so technical I'm a helicopter avionics mechanic working for an Army Reserve Unit.
Not a bad job... more than pays the bills, only problem is I have to stay in the Army Reserves to keep my job. I guess I don't mind the deployments... as long as I have a little time off in between them 8)

Actually, I'm with the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers... now officially a part of the Teamsters. Not a bad merger in my book. I run trains all over NJ, and into NY Penn Station.
MrsJetTech 10-13-2004, 07:49 PM I am a scheduler for Delta. I take care of all of the paper work on the aircraft when it comes in for a maintenance visit. I make sure that everything is filled out right, then file it away. If we have some mistakes I have to have them corrected etc, etc. Then at the end of the visit I close everything out so the plane can go back in to service. It's a good job it pays the bills

Bighitter 10-15-2004, 12:09 AM Project Manager and Systems Designer for a Custom A/V shop.
I spec the equipment and layout of systems for some very high end clientel. Then I get to make sure our guys follow the plans and deal with whatever pops up which something always does.
It pays the bills quite well and the fringe benefits are great. I have had access to the stock room enough to pickup almost my entire house worth of electronics.
ETTitan 10-29-2004, 09:43 PM Facility maintenance manager for a utility company.
OldSalt 11-02-2004, 10:16 PM As usual, I'm late jumping into these threads. Must be new member syndrome. I'm a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer (Machinist Mate surface type) who spun steam turbines for about 8 years, and then got into the automated maintenance management & documentation arena when the Navy shifted to gas turbine ships. I'm now a contractor working for the Air Force as a data analyst. I'll always love the Navy, but I'll allow the fly boys to sign my paycheck. Would love to hear from any of you squids out there, active duty, retired, whatever. I'll even acknowledge JO's, providing that they call me Chief OldSalt!!! :D
ETTitan 11-03-2004, 08:43 PM I had a feeling "Old Salt" had nothing to do with Utah and the big lake there. I am a retired Coast Guard Warrant (wrench turner). Spent five years as a Chief before going warrant (the billets were better for a W2 than a E8 mechanic. Welcome aboard!
OldSalt 11-03-2004, 09:31 PM Good to hear from you, WO. Being a wrench turner, I'm guessing maybe you were a MK before going Warrant? You didn't do any tours at Mayport, did you? I rode Koelsch, an old Garcia-class (FF-1040) frigate, and then did 4-1/2 years on the Forrestal. Also rode two carriers out of Norfolk (America and the Harry S. Truman) in my career. Retired in 2002. Saw on your other post that you also graduated in 1975. Hell gettin' old, ain't it? Congrats on your Titan, they're awesome trucks. Take care of yourself, WO, and thanks for your service to our country.
