: AEM BruteForce Intake Installed!

Well, it took just about an hour to install the AEM BruteForce Intake. I ordered the kit from Greg at Mossy on Tuesday and it arrived yesterday. The fit and finish of this intake is awesome. I didn't have to modify anything and it went together per the directions without a single problem. The only thing I will say is that you do not need to remove the window washer fluid reservoir to get the bottom of the stock airbox out like the directions say. Remove the two bolts that are clearly showing and give the box a gentle tug and the rubber bushing will slide off the last remaining bolt. Then once it's out you can remove the bolt. Other than that, it's a snap and the directions are great. Haven't had a chance to drive it yet but I will post butt dyno results as soon as I do. Meanwhile, here are a few photos.

You know, I kind of like it black. I thought about painting it but I just like the way it looks shiny with some protectant on it. We'll see.

Good, job, a hour, come on!...J/K Anyway I am in so much need of my Borla to come in, I'm dying here

Good job Tony! You should feel a bit more mid and upper end pull. Do ya get a vacuum sound on light throttle inputs?

If you just blip the throttle you can hear the magic sucking sound. :) I like it. Also, under hard acceleration from the lower RPM's you hear it inhaling hard. The butt dyno likes it!!! My wallet doesn't like it. I have a feeling I'm going to start getting really bad gas mileage. :) The computer is definately still adjusting but it feels much more responsive and the pull after 3500rpms is way stronger.

It would have been done in 20 minutes except you have to jack up the truck, take off the tire, take down the inner fender to get to four mounting points. I definately wasn't expecting to have to do that just for an intake.

That suction can scare a lot of people!

Glad you like it. I think I got better gains with the AEM compared to the exhaust system.

I didn't take my tire off, but it was tight. What I eventually did was put the bolts on from the top.

WOW that looks great I was going to get a volant but I might get this if the price is'nt to bad.

You know, I was just thinking. When I hit the track, that nice aluminum tube will look real good with a bag of ice sitting on it in the staging lanes. I remember my buddy used to set a bag of ice on his blower and pushed his truck through the staging lanes. It made a consistent 1/10th difference in his times. Not sure it will do anything for the Titan though.

It's a bit more than the Volant but I just got turned off on the Volant after I kept hearing about all the fitment issues. And, I like balancing performance with a little bling. :)

I like the looks of the Aluminuim intake pipe better than the Volant. But, I like that the Volant has a sealed air-box and doesn't rely on sealing to the underside of the hood.

Now if you were to fair in a nice hood scoop over the top of the AEM air box, you would have a sweet set-up. Maybe a NASA scoop, that would be even more trick!

I've said it before, I'll say it AGain, you Cannot make a bad decision in an intake for the Titan, AEM, Volant and K&N will all provide the same results for the most part, the K&N takes about 15-20 min to install...Apparently the AEM is a little more difficult and the Volant seems to be a 30 min install...but anyway its "basically an hour", no biggie...however, if you don't have an exhaust you will lose a little tourque then get it back at about 3300-3400rpm of course the HP will be better, but I am ckoking out my butt end without the Borla, god I hope they catch up with the back orders soon

How is it more expensive then the Volant?...I'm damn sure that the AEM is the least expensive if you do sme shoping around...I 'm not cetrain I'll have to get back but I thought the AEM was like 179-189 or something likt thaT

That's a nice install, TitanHauler! I was torn between the AEM and the K&N 77-series before I decided on the 77. If I may make an observation, I see that your intake tube is not sealed where it passes through the heat shield, so you may get some hot air leakby into your filter under hard acceleration. My 77-series has a flange that the intake tube connects to at the heat shield, and the filter connects to the other side of the flange inside the heat shield. You may want to look at trying to seal that up on your install. Not being critical-just making an observation of the difference between the AEM and the K&N. I think you can see what I'm talking about with the pic of my install.

Hey Anthony - nice intall buddy. Now how about a dyno so I can decide on the Volant or AEM.

I was conversing with Ken (M95Roadster) and he mentioned a possible run to Escondido for some Dyno time in the not so distant future. We will see.

Hmmm, now im thinking, the AEM or Volant?? Does anybody know if the Volant will give you a true extra 20HP? What is the AEM saying it will add in HP? The AEM looks really nice, im partial to chrome color rather than the flat black. but in the end it's which one will produce and give me the most HP

We'll never know which one produces the most HP until someone does an intake comparison on a dyno. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the manufacturer's HP claims. If you want to see a comparison on a F150 check it out here: http://www.clubtitan.org/postlite2539-intake.html+comparison

Is there anything closing in the bottom side of the AEM kit. It uses the hood, fender and the 3 sided shield to close in the sides and top, but I have never seen what is below the filter. If you have a picture from directly above the filter could you post it?

It's closed in on the bottom by the inner fender. I will see if I can get some overhead photos or maybe Roadster will beat me too it.

Yeah, it's closed off. I don't have any pics though.

Off topic...Anthony, I'm getting a baseline HP (dyno) done tomorrow.

I see exactly what your talking about. I thought about it too but I came to the conclusion that sealing up that area is pointless since there are 3 or 4 other little areas unsealed. I still haven't decided one way or another yet. I like that K&N!
