: 2WD lowering?
jd4676 04-16-2005, 10:37 PM I've seen a lot of you guys talk about lift kits for your 4WDs... but, what about lowering for us 2wd titan owners?
Also, any good recommendations out there for larger rotors if I decide to go from the stock 18 wheels to say... 22s?
Thanks,
jd4676

Here's my new tire and wheel package that's on it's way. I like the height of the front...I want it level but I want to drop the rear 2 inches not raise the front.....

Where did you see this flip kit? I'd like to know. Also, you can't use blocks unless you have a flip kit. And if you use both you will be eating the weeds.
Red Alert 04-29-2005, 07:34 PM Wilwood makes a big brake kit, 16" dia vented and slotted disks and new calipers. I haven't checked out the price yet, but I would guess it will be pricy. The calipers are 6 piston and designed to fit 22" wheels.
Check at:
www.wilwood.com
The install article was on page 80 of the May 2005 issue of Street Trucks.

It is obvious that you failed to read the ENTIRE question of the ORIGINAL poster. See the above quote.

baadz 05-21-2006, 11:11 PM I looked under my Titan and noticed a shackle connecting the springs to the underbody of the bed. What would happen if I removed them...height wise
Bl4k3 05-21-2006, 11:24 PM The June Issue of Sport Truck Has A vortec supercharger Titan they but a streetbeat customs 2/4 drop with 24's so they upgraded to Brembo 15'' eight piston brakes.

Red Alert 05-22-2006, 03:26 AM Sorry dude, but you don't want to do that. As the springs compress, they get longer and the shackle allows somwhere for that expansion to go. If you didn't have that, the springs wouldn't be able to function properly and you might end up tearing off the mount.
You need to use a shackle, but it can be modified somewhat to change the height of the truck. Do a search on shackles and you'll find some more info.

rcantu 05-22-2006, 03:27 AM 8 piston? whoa. that's gotta be crazy money cause the ap racing 6 pistons are $3k and of course stop on a dime. I have the Stillen Big brakes and that alone has made a huge difference in stopping power.

I like the drop. What came with the kit? Is it a flip kit for the rear and new coils for the front? How difficult?
Thanks

I'm lost here. What are you suggesting not to do?

I like the drop and the price. Do you have this setup and if so what all comes in the kit? I'm in need of one myself.
LoTiTtY 05-27-2006, 10:26 AM does anyone know about the Lowering kit coming from Stillen and if so whats the difference between Mcguaheys (lowering kit and Stillens, or Doutsh0shocks (if spelled right) Im wanting to get the most drop out of my truck, the guys at stillen said that If I were to go lower than lets say a 2 in in the front and a 3 in in the rear I would start having driveshaft problems because of the way the truck was designed, if ANYBODY can help me out in letting me know HOW LOW i can go and WHERE this kit is being sold other than stillens which I order and they said it would be 2 to 3 weeks before they even START makin it for me then another week for shipping, so good knowledge is always useful, and so ya know I do have 22's on my truck
LoTiTtY 05-27-2006, 10:30 AM ok just checked the streetbeat website and looked at their 2 in in the front and 4 in in the rear, THATS what I need but whats the comparrison to Stillen or any other company out there, I guess Im just tryin to get a good poduct review before I cancel the order from stillen and get the ones from streetbeat since there is 1 more inch of lowering in the rear, or could I go with stillens front lowering kit and get streetbeatcustoms rear 4 in. kit? whats the deal guys im lost and need help LMFAO!

RDFeatherstone was warning Baadz about removing the rear shackle and attaching the spring directly to the mount at the frame rail.
