: Is Your Front Bumper Uneven?? Read On to Fix
JetTech 10-14-2004, 05:39 PM Here's a pic I've attached to show the 4 bolts on each side of the frame to loosen in order to adjust your front bumper. Mine was 1/2" uneven and by doing this procedure I was able to get it within 1/16". Not bad when you consider the holes are not slotted. There's just enough slop when the 4 bolts on each side are loosened to make the adjustment.
You'll need a floor jack, or someone else to hold the bumper into position while you tighten it. Also you'll need a 17mm socket for the 2 bolts going through the frame on each side and a 12mm socket for the side brace bolts.
Procedure:
Loosen all 8 bolts about 2 turns or until the washers spin freely under the head of the frame bolts.
If your alone use a floor jack with a block of wood on it to lift and hold the bumper in place while you tighten each side evenly. Measure before and after to get an idea if you got it even.
That's it, you don't have to remove your skid plate or splash pan to do this. Takes about 10 minutes.

BiXLL 10-14-2004, 06:08 PM Dale, I wish I had the time and energy you have!
JetTech 10-14-2004, 06:18 PM I don't have either, I'm beat. I make it somehow!! :)
Titanmania 12-27-2004, 04:09 PM I have the same problem. I'm taking the vehicle back to the dealership. This is a PDI (Pre Delivery Issue). Anyhow, why get all dirty when the vehicle is still under warranty... :?
'Cause if you do it yourself you will get what you want! If the dealer does it you will get what he wants.
overdose 01-03-2005, 02:35 PM great post, helped me out since i have the same problem with the front bumper. One question, does anyone know how I would go about fixing an uneven headlight?
What I mean is that the left(drivers side) headlight on my Titan is not even with the hood on the top portion, there's a gap between the hood and headlight. The right headlight is perfect, but the left is like sitting kinda low. Any help would be appreciated.
Welcome aboard Overdose. If anyone can help you it will be JetTech, he pretty much knows everything. LOL and I'm not even being sarcastic he really does.

overdose 01-03-2005, 06:12 PM how can i go about contacting jettech? or will he reply to this post?
JetTech 01-03-2005, 07:11 PM What's happening OD and welcome to the forum!! I've been busy lately but always try to answer posts as quickly as I can... :D
An uneven headlight???? Now that's a new one on me. Without me asking too many dumb questions are you sure it's the headlight assembly and not the hood? Reason I ask is that the hoods on the Titans are typically not shimmed right at the front corners, either there is too much space and they flap a little while driving down the road or they stick up a bit.
If you can help me narrow that down then we'll go from there. A pic always helps too if you can get one.

JetTech 01-03-2005, 08:06 PM cool pics, thanks......It appears your headlight assembly is properly installed by the way it sits into the fender opening. The gap your referring to is caused by your hood not be shimmed right. Look into the gap, with the hood closed, and you should see a thick conical shaped rubber shim. See if it's really tight in there because it appears it may be a little too tall/thick and propping your hood up on one side. Let me know....Also take a pic of the left side so I can see the difference you see.
overdose 01-03-2005, 08:31 PM i'll post a pic tomorrow, just got dark here in southern california, and it's only 5:12.
JetTech 01-03-2005, 08:48 PM no problem OD, I'm sure I'll be lurking here tomorrow as well...
firecracker 01-03-2005, 11:12 PM Hey overdose, just wanted to welcome you to the club as well.
overdose 01-04-2005, 10:28 PM thanks for the welcomes. sorry about the delay, but i've been busy today and also it rained out so i could not take any pictures. I also went out and took a quick look under the hood and checked out the head light, it appears there are only 2 8mm bolts that hold the headlight in place, am I correct?

I had the same problem at work today but I just tried it here at home and it opened up. If you can't get it to open at home let me know and I'll repost the same pic for you.
overdose 01-05-2005, 08:00 PM somehow it does not work here at home, also tried at a pc cafe and no luck.
JetTech 01-05-2005, 08:22 PM Let's try this, the picture is small, even in the manual so it may take printing it out before you can see all the detail.
Let's try it again.
You will have to remove the grill and the trim below the light to get to the screws.
overdose 01-05-2005, 08:42 PM ah, okay, much better picture. Thank you for being supportive, I really appreciate it.
