hey guys..
quick question. I've removed the face plate of stereo system and installed a new H/U. after the installation and everthing was put back together. my airbag light is blinking on my cluster. anyone know why? i disconnected the battery during the H/U install.
Pls advise.

Oh man your screwed now. That will cost you a couple hundred at leat to fix....or if you want to save your money....look in the how to section and it will show you how. Or follow KY's slippery link.

when the light is blinking it means your airbag system is inoperable, does this method make it fully functional again?
...and it would cost 1 hr labor to have the dealership do it.

Mine did the same thing when I was tearing the console apart, but I left the battery cable plugged in. I just did this http://www.clubtitan.org/postt1445.html to clear it and everything was back to normal.

that maybe true, but I have disconnected my battery 2x and both times it made my air bag light blink. Different blinking patterns have different meanings.

The code for it blinking is the system had an open. Caused when you took out the console and unhooked all the wires. I did the same and when all was hooked back up it was blinking. I took it the dealer and they reset it for me. The scanner said the system had an open. The tech had done the same when he replaced his HU on his Titan. The system still works, it's just an indicator of letting you know of a past issue until you reset it. It shouldn't cost you anything since the truck is under warranty.

Been there, done that! I wish I knew Club Titan.org before I paid $80.00 to re-set the airbag. You can't remove the airbag light cable when the car is on, you can remove it, but you have to put it back before you turn the ignition on, or it will read a disconected light cable.
I removed it to change the stereo, but turned the ignition key on to test it, and didn't know about that detail.
