I finally broke down and bought a satellite receiver for my truck. I know a lot of people like the stock look of just adding satellite to the existing radio, but I wanted a portable unit that I can transfer between house/boat/car. I also like the ability of this unit to list the song artist, song title, and 20 stock quotes. This is the Roady2 receiver from Delphi, I think the color matches up pretty good with the truck's other lights. Here's the pics...
You can also take the bezel around the HU off and tap into the AUX wire and keep it hidden. Tap into it though, dont cut it off from the plug-in so you can still plug an Ipod or something into the AUX too. It works great. While you are doing all that, you can also get a PIE inlind amp to boost the output from your XM. Just a few pointers. Looks great though. I bought an aftermarket XM for the same reason, home, etc.
Thanks Otis, I might try to tap into the aux line. That would clean it up a little. Good idea.

I also installed a Roady2 in my Titan. I mounted mine on the cover where the 4 wheel drive switch would go if the truck was 4WD. I've been thinking about cleaning up the routing of my aux input also. Haven't tried it yet but when I had the center cover off and looked at the aux wiring it looked like it would be possible to solder wires to pins on the small circuit board behind the panel Aux Jack. I picked up some ear buds for 99 cents at Wall Mart. They have a low profile 90 degree plug that fits the Roady jack, and I plan on cutting the buds off and soldering the wire ends to the center panel aux jack circuit board. I don't know when I'm going to get around to actually trying it, since my current install has not required me to drill any holes in my new truck and I'm still not really big on that idea, but it is something you might want to try.

Yeah, I wasn't crazy about drilling a hole in my dash either. I took out the black rubber mat that is on the "shelf" above the radio and drilled it there, and I saved the mat so when I take the Roady out I can put it back and you won't be able to tell that there is a hole there.
When I put my XM in, I mounted it to the right of the AC controls, with a bracket that comes out the seam on the side of the bezel. I also ran all three wires out the crack with the bracket as well. Its really clean looking, and I didn't have to drill. The bracket is a radar detector bracket, thin metal, that I bent and mounted to two mounting screws behind the dash. It comes out vertically next to the bezel, and then bends to the right. I used the 3M double stick tape that comes with the XM stuff to attatch the back of the XM reciever to it. Left off the little swivel thing all together to eleminate vibration. Its got a real clean look. Hope this made sense. I would take a pic, but my camera is not working right now.[/img]
