: PRG Leveling kit: where do I get one?
I was wanting to put a PRG leveling kit on my truck. Where do I get one from? Do they come in different sizes 2" or 2.5"? I have a 4x4 king cab if that makes a difference. I just want my truck to level out but i dont want the front higher than the rear. I have also read that some people are putting helper springs, would I need these? I'm just planning on lifting up the front? Thanks for any help.

You can order it from PRG's website: http://prerunners.com/store/store.htm
You can also PM "PrerunnerGreg" with questions and he will help you with making sure you get exactly what you need for the setup you want. They do come in 2" and 2.5" sizes, but he has been known to make a custom size for some people.
Helper springs are for assisting with the reduction of axle wrap and to improve the handling of the rear end suspension. They are not related to the PRG kits.
HavockWK 04-25-2005, 05:42 PM Another thing on the helper springs... They have been known to lower the rear about .5". If you plan to use helper springs, make sure you remember this when you talk to PRG about your kit.
The 4x4's generally take a 2" front kit to level. If you put 2" on the front to level it, then install helper springs, you will be higher in the front. One of the reasons why some guys are adding the PRG 1" rear kit.
Cool, Thanks for the info. So when I have the front PRG leveling kit installed I dont need to make any other modifications besides an alignment? Do you know whats the biggest offset of wheel i can with after that? I want to put BFG AT's 33x11.5r18's. The 18's i want are 10" wide would that be to big?
Trogdor 04-26-2005, 12:41 PM Domo, the helpers lowered my rear about .75 inch after I put on the 1.5 inch blocks - I have a 2wd - just some FYI.
Havock - what shocks are you looking to buy to put on the back? I've been thinking about the shorter ranchos:

as suggested by Mike H. They're no bilsteins, but hey they're only 40 bucks a pop.

After the install you need the alignment done (to correct the toe) and that is all. The kit is absolutely awesome and simple.
I don't know a whole lot about the wheel/tire sizes and what specs will work. I think a 33x11.50 would work. Most guys aren't having any real problems, just a little trimming/molding here and there from some minor rubbing on 34" & 35" tires. If you look around, you will be able to find more info from guys that are more into tire & wheel specs than I am.

I am not sure. I am considering the model #RS5269 that Mike H. is running because I could get them now, and the price is good. I strongly value PRG's opinion, so I am hoping he can find a good solution soon. Right now, I am not having any problems, but I have bee taking it easy since learning the limits on my factory Ranchos. I would like to see if I can find some hills this summer to play on, and I will need new shocks before then.
Trogdor 04-26-2005, 01:34 PM Yeah I saw that, but I think Mike H. said the travel might be a bit too much for 2wd. Keep in mind he had a 2 inch block and the 4x4 leaf springs, so in other words, he has about 1.25 inches more height than a 2wd with a 1.5 inch spacer. The link I posted was to a 26 inch shock (I think Mike H is http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=partdetail.asp?part=RAN-RS5269 which is 27.25 inches).
PRG's opinion is priceless, no doubt. I'm guessing that Bils are going to cost about twice as much as these ranchos though.

I will have to check out the max compression on each model. The max extension is not an issue. And you're right, he does have right at 1.25" more height than we do.
When I talked to PRG about these, he seemed to think they would the Bilsteins would run about $75 each. Quite a bit more than $87 for the pair that Mike H. has. One of the reasons I am thinking Rancho. Don't have a lot of money to spend, so I might end up pinching the pennies on the shocks. (have to buy new tires soon. Dang crap-a$$ Rugged trails!)

I'm hearing you on this one. I also hate spending extra cash on shocks that we should have recieved simply by having the OR package in the first place. It looks like Mike H has had a good experience with his ranchos (he mentioned he thought they were better than stock).
I'm querying Greg about it ... I'm going to swap to the 2.5 inch spacer in front - doh!
Sorry to hijack, btw.
