I just recently changed my intake on my truck a couple of days ago. Ever since I've changed it, the check engine light keeps coming on. Is there anyway to reset it where it will turn off.

Do a search my friend. There are a couple of strings on this. Had to check codes myself this weekend and the info I found here helped me do it. - Jim

When you changed the intake did you get the MAF sensor installed properly? The bright side goes up. Also be sure the connector is securely in place. Push hard on it to be sure it is seated. This link is to a post that will tell you how to read the code and reset the light:

I'm not sure that the truck will even run with the MAF sensor upside down... you agree? I wonder if its a leak at the T/B....

if it has been on for a couple of day, you should read the codes, because it is telling you something is wrong. It would have cycled off by itself after 4 drive cycles if nothing was wrong, and just triggered by the change.

I would think you could really hear it if you had a leak at your TB. But no it won't run if it's upside down as I have seen on here. Hope no damage was done to the MAF. Unplug it and make sure it's seated good. Check the codes per the posted link and reset them and see if it pops right back up. We've got a few people on here the know the codes so if you get a code let us know what it is and someone will chime in and tell us what the truck is saying.

Hey everyone, just called k&n and they told me to take of the negative post for one hour, replace it, and after about 150miles it should turn off. It worked, so I'm happy.

Hi Phill....if it comes back on let us know. It would be a good idea to get the codes and see what's up. The negative battery terminal reset will only work for just so long if the problem still exists. Let's hope for the best.....but if it does come back on, you're in good hands on this site!!

Yeah your right Jettech, I spoke up to soon. It's back on again. Where do I go, to get the code checked.

Hey Phill, try to get the code and let us know what it is. If you have any problems trying to get it just hollar. It can take a few tries to get the ECU into the self test mode because of the timing in the throttle pumps. Just keep trying and you'll get it into the diagnostic mode in no time, then write down the flash sequence...

Hey everyone, forget about messing with that pumping the gas pedal. Just found out you can go to autozone. They can read you the codes and reset your ses light. Thought that might be a little help

Actually most Autozones will not read the codes for you anymore, but they have the obd-II code reader as a loan-a-tool, and if you want to use it in the parking lot usually do not require the 250.00 refundable deposit. I know the store I always go to will let me use it in the parking lot if I give them my drivers license as collateral, but I am sure they see this soccor mom as not a threat, so who knows.

I'd be more worried about the fact that the code has come back after he has reset it and pulled the battery cable. It's nice to be able to reset it, but I always like to know why it tripped in the first place.

yeah, I was getting three codes. One: running too rich second: MAS sensor fault third: O2 sensor, MAS sensor error.

come to find out, I didn't have my MAS sensor tigh enough. already drove about 500 miles hasn't came back on "knock on wood"

really appreciate everyone's input on this problem though, it really helped me out alot
