I just had a OEM big shield installed and am heading off on a road trip on Wednesday. I don't have time to give my truck a proper washing before then, so I was going to run it through the car wash? Has anyone had any problems using a carwash with a bug shield attached?

I wouldn't take mine through a car wash, Okay mine's to big. But before the MODS, when I took it through a car wash, I always found scratches. Unless it's a touchless car wash I would just do a quicky in a bay wash. My opinion. Have a safe trip.

I've taken mine through a carwash many times without any problems with the bug guard.

and I don't plan on making it a habit..i just know that with rain and work, there will be no time to give it a proper hand wash.

I installed my bugsheild myself so I am sure that if I took it through the car wash it would fall off! LOL, I don't take mine through a car wash anyway unless it was touchless!

LOL, no you have to keep yours washed too much...........that color gets dirty fast! :)

Watch out for self service bays too - the brush on a stick mal leave swirl marks in your paint. I hand wash a lot but also go to brushless car washes and have never had the bug shield scratched or damaged......
