Got a question for you my friend that maybe you can get some info for us on.
It appears that we know next to nothing about the tire pressure sensors on our trucks. So if you would pose these questions to your techs for us.
1. Can they be deactivated for people that do not place the sensors on the new wheels?
2. Can the pressure warning be changed for a higher PSI lower profile tire?
3. Can it be disconnected behind the display without making the computer mad?
Thanks for the help!!

You should be able to turn off the tire pressure monitor system with the consult II scan tool. The dealer charge for this will vary depending on their labor rate, company policy ect..As far as setting differnt PSI in the system, you cant. They are just set to a setting from the manf. and thats it..They only sense if a tire is low, not overfilled with air...If I remember correctly, they will set the light if the pressure goes below 28 psi..As far as disconnecting it behind the screen, no you cant..You can unplug the wires from behind the screen but not that one in piticular..Hope this helps!

Well I decided to go without the sensors. For a couple reasons. On a 45 series tire with 50 PSI 28 PSI is VERY low and I pay better attention then for it to get that low. So far no lights have come on and I hear that they won't until after about 45 min of driving. But it will turn off when vehicle is shutdown. So unless this get's annoying to me I'll leave it. If not I'll be talking to my sales guy and see if he can get something worked out for me.

Sounds good to me! I think those sensors cause more problems then they are worth..But yeah, if the light isnt on, then who cares...!!

For the people that want them.....great. But it should be easier to shut the system off if you don't want them.
