Has anybody used the Meguiars Smooth surface clay kit, NXT generation tech wax and the NXT Generation car wash? How bout a porter cable 7424 car polisher. I also just purchased some turtle wax liquid ice what do you think about that stuff? I also need some suggestions on a polish and bug and tar remover? I am thinking about getting these things so FLASH can start to shine soon. thanks

I've used the NXT gear. Went on and off really easy, took minimal time to do two vehicles. Looked great when I was done, but I'm not sure it really blew anything else I've used over the years away. It was easy and quick. I still use the NXT quick detailer btwn washes and some of the quik-wax btwn full wax applications. Good luck.
Try this thread from Texasgiant for some Ice info.

My name keeps coming up when people talk about shinny trucks or TW ICE products and I thank you all very much. You must know that I am no expert but I do take lots of pictures when the truck is looking good so you prolly think it looks like that all the time. As far as any expertise I may have with TW ICE. I like it due to low cost, availability(walmart), and ease of use. They keep expanding the line and I have used them all except the ICE paste wax, that's next. Basically I'm a lazy A$$ and this stuff is too easy. I don't have the foggiest idea what the chemistry behind the line of products is but none have failed to perform as advertised. The look is WOW and holds up too the beach very well. as far as long term protection, only time will tell.

I detail on the side when I'm not @ the firestation. I use Meguiars 100%. I use some consumer line stuff but mostly professional line stuff on internet detailing sites. I use the NXT line in the car wash and wax. I use the wax as a LSP (last step product) to top off the sealant I use. The smooth clay kit is well worth the investment. It is a good idea to use the clay step in between the wash and the wax. It will remove unseen contaminants in your paint and prevent you from sealing them in under your wax. It will allow the wax to permeate into the pores of your paint and truly give you excellent protection. It will also allow the wax to apply easier because it will be a totally clean surface. The kit comes with a small bottle of their cleaner wax and a microfiber towel that is one of the best on the market as far as quality microfibers go. The cleaner wax is an ok product but the NXT wax is night and day compared to the cleaner wax.

As far as the PC machine, I have one similar to the one you mentioned but it is called a G100 (still a Porter Cable machine), made for Meguiars and has a lifetime warranty where the 7424 is only 1 year. I use it along with the Meguiars pads to do all my scratch/ and or swirl removal as well as wax/sealant application and removal. It is awesome and well worth the investment. It is my bread and butter!
I do not use bug and tar removal because it totally strips anything it touches. It removes any and all sealant/wax protectant on a vehicle. For bug removal I use warm soapy water and for extreme cases, dryer sheets with a little of the warm soapy water.
I do not have any experience with the ICE product as I use Meguiars exclusively because of their excellent customer service and the incredible results I have achieved with their products. Just my .02.......

I just used all the Turtle Wax ICE products (except Paste Wax) on my truck today. All I can say is WOW! Look at the shine!

I use Mcguiars too... as well as Zaino polymer polish. I have not used the NXT wax yet, but the NXT protectant is awesome... and smells good too, not like Slimer-all. I just spent the whole fookin' weekend detailing this sled.

I will be starting a thread later once I get the pics up. My fingers are all cracked open at the nail, so it's a little sore typing LOL.
