My SLIP light is intermittently coming on, and I need to get this taken care of. I'm sitting right at 36,500k miles, should they still warranty this even though I'm over by 500 miles. I think if they want a good rep, that they would warranty it. The service guy I talked to over at Baker Jackson’s name is Rolando (not sure if any of you Houston folks know of this dealership, or of the service guy himself). He told me that he would charge me a fee of $106 bucks just to hook the damn thing up to the computer to see what exactly is wrong (even though the SLIP light is coming on). Anybody have any other hookups, or better service people I can go to get this taken care of. I don't want to drive around any long with that SLIP light on. A side note - the SLIP light isn't on all the time, it's intermittently. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

bump...if anybody can help out around the houston area, please do. thanks!

check your brake fluid level, if its low you'll get the light

I appreciate the respsonse... 1 out of 18, that's pretty bad. Yeah, I checked the brake fluid level and everything looks good there. Again, I appreciate you the being the only one to chime in, I was hoping for more feedback.

Wouldn't SLIP problem be a part of the powertrain warranty, which is 60k miles?

Wait, weren't you having problems with this on March 21? If you are at 36,500 miles right now, you probably were under 36,000 miles on March 21. Did you not take it in before 36,000 miles?

I can't remember which Houston area Stealer had the best service dept..(someone posted it a while back) But I KNOW its NOT Baker Jackson North.

I'd call Jody...he's not too far from ya.

Hello,,, I am not from Texas area or even in your time zone so I hope this responce is helpfull or at least can help shed lite ( no pun intended ) on condition... I noticed aftermarket wheels and tires,,, are they all worn evenly or has maybe just one or two recently been replaced... If you are a off roader maybe some debre has been caught in wheel speed sensors...
From what I've been told a intermintant code in that type of system may only be traceable when light is on,,, and any driveline item including diagnostic time is still a warranty item... Interesting condition,, my slipp lite only came on in rain or wet roads when rear wheels were spinning...

Good luck...

Baker Jackson is a great dealership. Did you buy the truck from them? If Rolando won't help call the main line and talk to Doug surbrook. He should be able to help you get things straight. He is the new car's sales manager and can get things done. If he can't he will talk to Kevin.
