I just got my 05 Titan SE and i was what type of nav system would be the best because i also have the 6 disc cd changer.
Would the six disc cd changer have to come out if i did the upgrade?

I wondered the same thing, but then I though screw it, Randmcnally.com gets me close enoughb, and I enjoy getting lost (no wife)..get lost, find a roadside, get 3 versions of directions that Einstien can't decipher...

Buy a Garmin. That way you can use in in another car, on the boat, etc., plus you'll save about 2K, get updates via the WWW, plan your trips, examine routes on your home computer, laptop, etc.

JimB is right, the Garmins are sweet units. Had a chance to play with one in at a truck accessories palace in Va., really nice.

Lowrance also has a nice unit out, here's a link - they have a couple new ones coming out this summer with bigger screens.

I'll be getting one sooner or later, don't know which make or model yet.

The nice thing about the Garmin is the option of doing all the planning -- routes, attractions, eateries, etc. at home or on the laptop and bringing it with you. When I travel on business in a rental I take it with me. Even when I fly, I pack it -- get to the destination, light it up in the rental -- ready to go. Can't do all that if it's in the dash board. It's easy to use, and it talks to you. Hit a traffic jam, hit detour, wham, takes you around it. Need gas -- instant access.

My father in law has a E500 Merc. wagon with on-board GPS and it is way below par compared to ability/capabilities of the Garmin.

Man, reading this sure helps! I've tried to figure out which way would be best (fixed or mobile). It seem to me that a individual would get more use out a nav that you can take with you verses one that is fixed/permament in vehicle. A mobile nav systems sounds like the better way to go.
