Did a little browsing around- saw that some others had this problem, so letting y'all know where Nissan is at as of today...

I've got 41,700 on my '05- changing the oil, and seeing a pretty/really bad leak from the rear (insert joke here) axel. The seal is done/gone/kaput. So after some research preparing for an arguement with nissan over a "wear and tear item" not under warranty vs. a powertrain warranty issue, and why i shouldn't have to pay, I call up my local nissan- told them what i found, and suggested that it should be covered. They asked how many miles, 41,700, they said, yup- no problem, the seals are now considered as part of the powertrain.

Maybe because of the multiple problems? Maybe i just got lucky? I don't know- but for all of those who haven't had the issue, keep an eye out for it- especially right before your 36k and 60k marks...

Sorry, no new revelations here. Your 60K powertrain has been and will always be Engine Trans and Rearend. This is one of the hazards of our jobs at a dealership. Sopmetimes people climb on the old Defensive about something there really is no issue with. Not a big deal though, at least you got taken care of.
