I did mine last week. Didn't take as long as I thought it would.

Having not used one before, is there anything I should be wary off with this?

I hear how much everyone loves it and want to do both my truck (silver) and probably my wife's car (white)

Any advice?

use alot of the detail spray you don't want the clay bar to stick to your paint. Oh and try not to drop it I did a few times but was amazed at everything it picked up off the floor just shocking.

just make sure your truck is really clean first and that you have 3 or 4 hours to spare.

I have seen the recommended way to do it (wash - claybar - rewash - dry - wax)

Is this the way to do it? Also is there a difference between the bars (meguiars vs mothers vs etc....)

I think it should work great on getting some of the hard water spots off (from leaky pipes in our underground garage) on both cars....

Especially, I want to try it out on my wifes white car to see how much crap it pulls off! Do you guys thing I would need 1 per car?

I tried the Turtle Wax Ice Liquid claybar. Worked well. Easy to use. Easy to wash off. Made the paint squeekey clean. Does not remove tar or baked on bugs. Generally, a good product.
My .02 cents.

thanks for the tip... that must have taken a good chunk of the day to clay your entire titan.

over the counter i prefer the mothers bar. i actually dont like using the detailer sprays with clay. i simply use (and yeah i know they dont recc it and they tell you not to.. ive been doing this for near 13 years though) a bit of dish soap and water. just dip often and keep turning or kneeding the bar to keep the surface clean. and 150% after a clay bar the car needs new wax on it.. i clay at least 2-3 times a year

I used the clay for the first time. Awesome invention. It made the truck SOOO smooth and shiney. Then I used dupont teflon wax. Awesome stuff. Water rolls off the truck.

I did what the box said....wash, clay, wax, then detail the rest of the car...

i just finished with the meguires clay bar and the first coat of wax....i love this product...the truck looks better than new...i thought it was clean seeing as i just buffed it not a month ago but was amazed at how much contaminants the clay bar pulled out of the paint...worth every minute it took to do

just used the meguiars quik detail clay bar system, truck looks sooooo nice. Followed up with megiuars swirl remover polish, meguiars pure polish and then mothers pure carnauba wax. Truck looks brand new!

Used the clay bar on the wifes white Maxima, I was impressed. I did the wash, clay, wash, polish and wax. Took a good day to do all that. But it was definitely worth it. I'll wait for two days off to do the Titan.

Oh, I bought two kits, but I think I have enough spray left from the first to do the Titan. BTW, I thought the Turtle Wax Liguid Wax was great on the plastic/rubber trim. HAPPY DETAILING!

Gary

:hi:

Turtle Wax Liguid "POLISH" is what I meant for the Plastic/Rubber...the wax would be a mess. SORRY!

I used the Mothers clay bar kit, but used Zymöl instead of the wax that came with the kit. I always use microfiber towels. I was pretty impressed with the results. Claying is time consuming but not hard to do at all. The Zymöl wax comes off pretty easily as long as you don't put it on too thick (which you shouldn't!). I just use a small sponge to apply it and a microfiber towel to remove it. I finish it off by misting some water on it and buffing with a different microfiber cloth.
