Hey guys,

Here the last couple days I've felt/heard the steering wheel pop when I make a right hand turn. It's only when I turn the wheel all the way to the right. What could be causing this?

Have someone get on the outside and listen where your upper control arm is (near the top, inner side of the tire) while you make it pop. It could be a number of things.

Several Titan owners have had problems with the steering rack. This sounds like the problem you have. I would take it to the dealer ASAP.

actually we have replaced 2 steering boxes because of a mystery noise, Get it to a dealer, have them, call Tech Line if they can't figure it out.

I took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. For some reason I didn't see scr38 and jerseyparts posts to this when I originally posted it so that's why I'm so late in updating. They also say they can't hear my dash speaker rattling but that's another story. I had to take it last week to get the brake fix again, and they have ordered a new 6 disc CD changer because mine won't accept CD's anymore. Next time I go I'll make the service advisor take a ride with me to hear the pop and the rattle.

if you go with them, and you can hear the noise and they can not get a different tech. It could be a pitch hard for some to hear. I have very sensitive ears, and hear high pitch noises better than most so, I have to find somebody who can hear well also. A lot of techs spend all day in loud echoy garages, so there hearing may not be the best.
One of the best techs I have ever worked with can not help me on noise problems because of a loss of hearing at certain pitches. I could stand there and hear the noise and he could not. But most of the time, he just replaces what the peice is since, he knows I can hear it, and he would never be able to.

Well, the popping you can actually feel in the steering wheel, so even if he didn't hear it he should definitely be able to feel it. The rattle, I've taken it down there twice and both times they have told me they couldn't reproduce it. It had been more of a sporadic thing but now it's almost constant. The service advisor told me that replacing the 6 disc would fix that  but I don't exactly see how. The cover or whatever that's over the driver's side dash speaker is loose. When it rattles, I can reach up and put my hand on it, and it stops. It has quite a bit of wiggle in it.

There's a pop in mine too, but only when I turn the wheels to the left while backing in my driveway. My driveway has an incline to it. When it pops, I can feel it in the steering wheel. And it doesn't do it everytime, so I'm not takin it in yet.
