First question is do you have the big tow package or did you just add a hitch?? If you don't have the big tow and just added a hitch then you will need 2 relays that go under the hood. One is for trailer brakes and one is for running lights.

i do have the big tow package. the plug in under the dash was already there. I connected the harnest to the brake box then pluged it in. when i hookede up my trailer i got zip. i tested the plug under the dash and found no power of any sort. i am from the binghamton area coulpe hours from albany.

Welcome to the club meesh....I really don't understand why your harness isn't working because it should. With nothing showing hot I would guess you're missing a relay or you might have a blown fuse. If the dealer isn't too far away I would take it back to them and let them deal with it, especially if something is missing because it should work. Please let us know what happens and again WELCOME!!!

ok so im taking it to nissan thursday. but of course true to my nature i cant give up and go another round with the fuses. well i beleive i found the problem. now you all get to see how very mechanical i am. i take out this funnt looking fuse 40amp and has two other 40amp fuses with it three in one, green in color. so now its in my hand im happy of course cause the one that says electric brake looks bad. proud i am. well i put it back in and go to the store. guess whats lighted up now? check engine light. dont know why now im back to being depressed and i give up. going to nissan.

When you pulled all those fuses you killed power to some units which caused the engine light to come on. You can clear the light yourself. Look at this link:

At the bottom of the post you are told how to clear the light.
You need to find out why the brake controller fuse blew. Before you replace the brake fuse recheck your wiring to be sure you have it wired correctly. Check it twice!

Yes, the brake controller wiring is very odd. You actually hook up miss matched colors. You have to make sure to read the instructions carefully cuz with mine you actually hooked red's to blacks, and white's to red's, it was just strange. :) So check all your wiring a couple times.
