I went to the track last night and had a few no traction issues. I have some caked on tire rubber on the rear lower fender and wheel well. Before I start scraping and using WD-40, are there any easier methods in removing the rubber? Thanks.

There's a fine line to having good traction and not having it....lol. This trip I removed the spare tire and jack. That lower weight difference in the back caused traction issues that I never had before.

Could you leave the rubber on the fenderwell and consider it undercoating? <g>

Good Ole Fashion Hard Work! Manual Labor. Dont Use High Presure Washers.

My 07 XE will not GET TRACTION. Even bought much wider tires than stock. Still no traction... Detroit Tru-Trac is the way to go. That will be my next mod... dunno about the rubber, have not tried to get it off mine yet.

Same problem here. Tru Trac arrived today, the rubber will just be window dressing! Even if most of it really came from all them real fast cars doing burnouts. :)

I use WD-40 on my bracket car and a soft cloth. Soak the bejesus out of it and it comes off pretty easy.

Wow, I just spent the last 4 hours getting that rubber off. I used a plastic scraper for the wheel well, fingernails on fender and bumper, then WD-40 for the leftover residue. What a pain in the ***, rubber even flew on the inside of the tail light connector and surrounding area. I don't think I'll ever get my hands clean after this mess...lol.

Can you spray the fenderwell with something before you race to try an prevent the buildup? Maybe some Pam?

If you put wd40 on the fender & fender well before you go race the it comes off easly whith the pressure washer at the car wash.

WD-40 and a scrapper are the best tools I've found...presoaking works but do it before your at the track so that the overspray does not get on your tires. Also besure to pick the stuff up off the driveway cuz it will stay there for a long time if you don't.

Pam works pretty good, also you could throw on some rear mudflaps to help keep it off the painted areas to prevent it from happening again.

I wiped the front of mine b4 a trip and the bugs just rinsed off. Mirrors, grill and bumper to.

When I did my burnout, I got rubber all over the underside, the side and exhaust tip. Turtle's Tar and bug remover got it out real easy.
