Hi Guys wondering if anyone could answer a few questions..Lately Im having problems with my idle..its been dropping from around 600rpms to about 4 and coming back up to 600 after..almost like it wants to stall out abut never does..

I have a stock engine other that the K&N Intake kit.. I thought of the ECU and tried leaving the battery negative off over night to reset and it didnt seem to help.

A friend seem to think it may be a Throttle Body sendor causing this and that it needs to be cleaned..if this is the case could someone walk me through how to do that or does that need to be done by dealer pr mechanic at shop?

Thanks for the help all

Ron

I would check for air leaks first, check around all the ducting for the K&N intake setup you have, if all is tight and not leaking air, then I am not too sure, not a common enough problem to know..The filter (K&N) may have contaminated the MAF sensor some, you can spray (lightly and carefully) brake clean on the MAF wire (inside the tube where the air goes through)..after that...I dunno.

It is very delicate, and very easy to ruin.

I do agree, if you dont feel 100% comfortable about this, dont! its an expensive part to ruin..!!

I have used electronic parts cleaner on mine. You can get at Radio shack or any auto parts store. Ypu may have other issues with the idle other than the Maf. May need to go to the dealer.
