I use mine in conjunction with my California Duster...not as an option other than Meguires #6 or 26.

I like to use the Pinnacle Crystal Mist Detail Spray....I also like to use it with a clay bar, but will use it once and a while for a quick detail; however if you want a really good product for those "In between waxings", Pinnacle makes a very good spray on wax. I absolutely love it for it's quickness as well as it's ability to shine and lay down a quick coat of wax in between waxings.

Aquawax by Duragloss! One of the best Over The Counter you can buy! Car Quest, NAPA and some other Auto Parts stores carry Duragloss.

Stuff is AWESOME! And I am a detail nut so I have tried a LOT of stuff. But for the money.......

I have used liquid ice, meguiars, and mothers and ice seems to work the best.... But I am by no means a specialist when it comes to detailing...

My truck pretty much stays muddy all the time. I haul things and drive places that sometimes cause dirt to appear on the truck. Odd how that does that.

Seriously, I have never found a spray that works.

I use Speed Shine from Griot's Garage when I want to put a little shine on without doing a complete wax job. I also use it with my clay bar.

i use the mothers and meguiars and a micro cloth. i normally use it to remove water spots when i dont feel like waxing after i wash my truck. i wont use it if theres a lot of dust on the truck cause its like basically taking the dust and grinding it into the paint, which is why youll see those hairline scratches on yours or other peoples trucks....

With dark colors I would try to stay away from instant detailers, it leaves streaks if you do not wipe thoroughly. Make sure not to use them if the paint is dusty, because all this will do it scratch the clearcoat and make swirl marks. I just make sure to keep the truck clean, and wax periodically. Instant detailer is good after you wash inbetween wax jobs

I rub butter on the exterior paint, leaves an incredible sheen, smells tasty in the sunlight, and my pancakes never stick to the hood when I flip them. On the serious side, I use the meg's instant detailer to take off any light dust/ pollen after some extended garage or driveway time or w/ the clay bar as lube.

You are using the wrong type of protect to get the results you are trying to achieve. A detailer spray is NOT designed to give extra shine or protective coating. It IS designed to be used in between washes when you have water spots (after a rain), pollen, or light dust on your vehicle and you do not want to do a complete wash. It is not designed to remove heavy dirt as you will induce scratches and swirls into the paint.
A detailer spray (of any brand) IS designed to be used as a lubricant while claying as well. A detailer spray works best on a vehicle that has been waxed and/or has had a sealer applied. It WILL NOT coat or protect. It will give some added shine IF your vehicle is waxed/sealed simply because you are cleaning off the residue that was on the paint beforehand but that is NOT the purpose of a detailer spray. The shine/gloss will come from your wax/ sealant application and the detailer spray will just maintain it, it will not add to whats not already there.

I have used Meguiars products for years and never had an issue. For your darker colored vehicle I would recommend Meguiars NXT wax followed with NXT detailer spray in between. These are both synthetic products that will produce excellent results on a dark vehicle. These products are consumer line products that can be found at Pep-Boys, Wal-Mart, ect. These are used by everyday regular users. If you want to step your results up, I would recommend going to their professional (detailers) line products. They are manufactured for detailers but can still be used by average consumers. I detail as my side job when I'm not at my full time job. PM me sometime and let me know exactly what you are currently using (wash, wax, clay, sealer, ect) and what type of results you aren't getting now but would like too and I'll try to get you on to the right products.

The Ice Polish I used was in a bottle and went on with a sponge. Wiped off with a Micro towel. Was very easy and looked great!

Turtle Wax:
Ice Wash
Ice Wax
Ice Detailer

but for chrome wheels, you can't beat Mequiar's Chrome Wheel Cleaner. I like easy. Spray with water, spray with wheel cleaner, wait 30-40 seconds and spray off with water.

I've never really liked the instant detail sprays until I tried the Zaino. Zaino Z-6 Ultra Gloss Enhancer is the best I've ever tried.leaves it smooth as glass and really adds a sheen.

Bingo... after I wash the truck (when there is still wax on it), I speed dry it on the road to wring the water out of all the crevices, then I wet down a microfiber cloth and wring it out, then spray some quik detailer on it and rub it on a section, and immediately dry it with a micro towel. It evens the finish, removes the water spots and it looks like it was just waxed. It also serves as clay lube. Yesterday I clayed it and waxed it in about 3 hrs.

You'll know when it's time to wax again when you're using the quik detailer after a wash, and it's more resistant to wiping it off...time for a wax job.

Someone said it before, but you should keep in mind that the instant detailer will not ADD anything to the condition of your paint or make it look better than it was before you applied, it is only designed to reveal what is underneath any surface contamination you may have.

YOU are correct......but believe what you will. :)
As stated before, the quick detailer only cleans the surface and like you stated REVEALS what is underneath. IF you already have a good polish, wax, or combo of both on your paint, then the detailer is simply removing surface contaminants off the top of this protective coating and making the SHINE pop out. Of course it will appear to increase the shine because the contaminants (dirt, dust, pollen, water spots, grease, grim, road salt, ect.) prevented the shine from being seen. Its intended design is for it to be used between washes when you have minor contaminants on you paint and you want your vehicle to have that 'just washed' look w/out actually HAVING to wash it. It is ideal for removing bugs and their remnants (especially LOVE BUGS) each evening to prevent their acid from eating away your clearcoat and into your paint as well.
And as a side note, for those interested, the repeated use of detailer sprays actually removes wax and polish from your vehicle, so it is wise to reapply a little more often than normal when REPEATEDLY using detailer sprays. If you don't want to take my word for it, simply test it yourself. On your hood, apply your wax or polish or both to both sides equally, and use the detailer spray when you feel the need only on one side of the hood. On the opposite side, when needed, actually use a liquid soap and water mixture to remove whatever you need to remove. The protective coating on the side w/ detailer spray will wear down faster and need to be reapplied. Just my .02, and trying to help a brother out.
OPINIONS ARE LIKE BELLY-BUTTONS AND BUTTHOLES, EVERYBODY HAS ONE BUT NOBODY USUALLY WANTS ANYONE ELSES!

But the Meguiars product that you bought is not like the old armorall, its a quick detailer in it will help you keep the dust sticking to your microfiber towel and leave somewhat of a new car smell. Also it is good for your steering wheel as it will not leave it greasy like a conditioner, which it is not. If you want really good products or have detail questions check out this website. autogeek.net great for advice and products for any detailing job.

"Quik Detailer (old formula) best for cleaning and claying, and it does a great job of restoring that just detailed look to the paint.

Speed Detailer (NXT LIne) is a little slicker, glossier than Quik Detailer, closer to Last Touch in how it works and how it looks.

Ultimate Quik Detailer (BRAND NEW PRODUCT) is actually a completely different animal altogether. It adds tons of gloss, makes the paint slicker than ice sliding on ice and leaves behind a protective polymer coating that lasts a long time while repelling water. It's not recommended for use as a clay lube because it's too slippery but also because the other two products are lest costly.

You basically want to have either the Quik Detailer (old formula) or the Speed Detailer (NXT product line) in your collection for claying and cleaning and keep UQD (Ultimate Quick Detailer, a brand new product that was just released) in the car and in the garage for creating that show car shine in no time."

This is a direct quote from Mike Phillips of Meguiars, a legend in the detailing industry.

I did a little research on Meguiar detailer sprays and found this info. The new UQD spray DOES add gloss and leaves a protective polymer behind when applied. This is a new product that just came out on the market and I was not aware of. The NXT Speed Detailer apparently does add some gloss/shine as well. The original formula was what I was basing my info on and that info still stands.
I was WRONG when taking into account the new Ultimate Quick Detailer which Does add gloss and Does leave a small protective polymer coating behind as well as the NXT Speed Detailer. I'm not sure what Blue Water or some of the others were/are using. The old original formula is in a RED bottle, new UQD is in BLACK bottle, and NXT is in green bottle. I apologize for the incorrect info and stand corrected. :(
